The Personal Assistant must have a service-mindset and will be responsible for managing day-to-day logistics, calendaring, errands, packing, and a wide range of personal and administrative tasks that arise on short notice.

The Principal is seeking a professional and experienced Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and organisational support in Dubai.

We work with many ultra high net worth individuals, and if we were to ask them what they couldn’t live without, “my PA” is often the first answer. Personal assistants have become absolutely essential in the world of high net worth. When you’re managing multiple businesses, properties across three continents, and a family schedule you need someone exceptional.
Morgan & Mallet has spent more than a decade understanding what separates good PAs from truly outstanding ones. The difference isn’t just about booking restaurant reservations or managing calendars (though you’ll do plenty of that). It’s about knowing your principal’s preferences before they know themselves.Â
As Morgan, our co-founder, says: “The PA is absolutely essential when you’re very wealthy. These people are incredibly busy, so they need someone managing bookings – hotels, restaurants, travel arrangements. You can’t replace this with AI. You need a human who knows your boss, understands their habits, what they like and dislike.”
That human insight matters. Morgan also notes: “Some billionaire clients have four or five PAs, not just one. For example, I’ve seen clients with a PA for the US, a PA for Europe, different PAs for different regions because they’re managing so much.”
At Morgan & Mallet, our placement philosophy reflects what Laurine our other co-founder learned through years of recruitment. Matching candidate and client goes far deeper than résumés.Â
It’s about the little things that often don’t get picked up in standard applications. Things that PA candidates might have done but they don’t think about bringing it up. “Candidates forget to mention these moments because they only happened once or twice. But those stories reveal character,” Laurine explains.
We look for PAs who naturally go beyond what’s written in a job description and that’s one of the reasons candidates and clients come back to us.
PA demand isn’t just growing, it’s exploding. Morgan our co-founder confirms: “We receive enormous numbers of requests. Personal assistant is definitely in our top five most-requested positions. With new companies, new startups, more and more entrepreneurs emerging worldwide, the requests keep increasing.”
If you’re a PA already working in the role or are looking to get into the industry, now is a a good time.
There are several reasons for this unprecedented demand:
The Entrepreneur Boom: At Morgan & Mallet we estimate that 80-90% of PA requests come from entrepreneurs, not traditional corporate executives. Tech founders, startup CEOs, private equity principals, and serial entrepreneurs need PAs who can adapt to fast-moving, unpredictable schedules.
Wealth Concentration: As wealth accumulates among fewer individuals, those people manage increasingly complex lives which need support.
Global Mobility: Wealthy families move constantly. As Morgan has seen in the business: “Rich people are relocating from Europe to the Middle East and US. When they move, they bring their lifestyle expectations and need PAs who can coordinate across time zones and cultures.”
Post-COVID Preference for Privacy: Since COVID, wealthy individuals increasingly prefer doing business from private homes rather than restaurants or hotels. This change needs PAs skilled in coordinating private meetings, managing household staff during events.
The US has the highest PA salaries globally and the most diverse opportunities. Florida attracts relocating families. California is good for tech entrepreneurs. New York sees a lot of finance and real estate entrepreneurs. Texas has energy executives.
Salary Range (US): $80,000 – $250,000+
Entry-level PAs supporting a single principal normally start at $80,000-$100,000. Experienced PAs working with complex schedules earn $120,000-$180,000. Senior PAs coordinating multiple properties or supporting C-suite executives reach $180,000-$250,000+.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi are part of maybe the world’s most sought after PA market. Morgan notes wealthy Europeans and Britons relocating to the UAE for tax advantages, bringing sophisticated expectations for PA support.
Salary Range (UAE): AED 300,000 – AED 900,000+ (European, UK, US candidates generally requested more)
This translates to approximately $82,000-$245,000+ USD completely tax free. Accommodation is usually provided, and flights home can be included. The upper end of this range rivals senior executive pay in many countries.
London still is a big PA hub, particularly for finance, private equity, and international business. British PAs are sought internationally for their professionalism, discretion, and communication skills.
Salary Range (UK): £60,000 – £135,000+
London-based PAs typically earn 20-30% more than regional positions in the rest of the country. PAs supporting UHNW principals in Mayfair, Chelsea, or Knightsbridge generally have the highest salaries.
Geneva and Zurich’s private banking community means there is good PA demand.
Multilingual PAs (English, French, German, Italian) are very important here.
Salary Range (Switzerland): CHF 90,000 – CHF 130,000+
Monaco’s concentration of UHNW residents creates high PA demand. French-English bilingual skills are really important
Salary Range (Monaco): €70,000 – €100,000+
Riyadh and Jeddah clients can seek European, UK, and US-trained PAs.
Salary Range (Saudi Arabia): SAR 72,000 – SAR 120,000+ (European, UK, US candidates often asked for).

Technical skills get you in the conversation for PA roles, but we have found from all the placements we make that it’s soft skills that make you truly indispensable.
– Calendar management (managing schedules across different time zones, being ahead of conflicts).
– Travel coordination (booking private jets, commercial first class, hotels, visas, immigration requirements).
– Communication management (filtering emails, prioritizing calls, drafting correspondence).
– Event planning (coordinating dinners, business meetings, family celebrations, corporate functions).
– Vendor management (building relationships with hotels, restaurants, airlines, service providers).
– Technology skills (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, project management tools, CRM systems).
– Document management (organizing contracts, legal documents, financial records with absolute confidentiality).
As Laurine our co-founder discovered through thousands of placements, LinkedIn networking proves crucial for PA career advancement. “For roles like house manager or personal assistant, networking heavily relies on LinkedIn and maintaining connections with previous colleagues who might refer you to new positions.”
The best PAs from our experience have:
Anticipation: Knowing what’s needed before your principal asks. Noticing patterns (they always want coffee at 10 a.m., they prefer aisle seats on flights over three hours, they need 15 minutes to decompress between back-to-back meetings).
Discretion: You’ll overhear confidential business discussions, family matters, financial details. Absolute confidentiality isn’t optional, it’s foundational.
Unflappability:Â Exceptional PAs solve problems calmly while their principal doesn’t know the disaster that was just avoided.
Cultural Intelligence: You might support a British principal doing business in Dubai, schedule meetings with Japanese partners, and coordinate travel across South America. Understanding cultures is really important.
Emotional Intelligence: Reading your principal’s mood and adjusting accordingly separates good PAs from exceptional ones. Knowing when they need space versus when they need briefing. Understanding which interruptions actually justify disturbing them in meetings.
We have found that the clients we work with really want these things. They are often the skills that can’t be taught, but have the most impact in a role. Many of our best PAs have these skills, which is why they are in demand and get the best roles.
We’ve Placed PAs for 10+ Years Across Six Continents
From London penthouses to Miami estates, Dubai villas to Silicon Valley compounds, Swiss chalets to Monaco apartments, Morgan & Mallet has placed Personal Assistants in so many locations.
Our co-founder Morgan brings a unique perspective. Before entering recruitment, he worked as a butler in luxury household environments. “You learn quickly that wealthy clients expect perfection. Everything must work flawlessly. That’s the standard we apply to every PA placement,” Morgan explains.
PA placements need patience. As Cara, one of our recruiters, learned when placing a complex governess/housekeeper hybrid role: “Clients frequently underestimate how long quality searches take. More planning, flexibility, and clarity upfront creates smoother processes and significantly better long-term matches.”
We apply this philosophy to PA placements. Rather than rush candidates through interviews to close a placement, we take time to understand if the candidate and the role are the right fit.
Our client base includes tech entrepreneurs, entertainment industry leaders, private equity principals, royal families, real estate magnates, and business leaders across every major market. Many discover us through Google searches, but our strongest placements come through referrals within the UHNW community.
As Morgan notes: “Wealthy people exist in every country. We place staff everywhere, Europe, US, Middle East, even Africa, Russia, Iran, Iraq. They find us online because we’ve built a reputation for discretion and quality.”
