Job description

Our client is seeking an exceptional Sole Housekeeper to join their private household in the heart of Mayfair.

This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for an experienced, highly organised and meticulous Housekeeper who takes genuine pride in maintaining a home to the highest possible
standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete care and presentation of a beautiful
four-storey family residence.

The household is informal, warm and respectful, with one toddler, and is looking for someone who is discreet, proactive and committed to excellence.

The position can be offered on either a live-in or live-out basis. For a live-in candidate, a private
self-contained staff apartment with its own entrance is provided, comprising a double bedroom,
bathroom, sitting room and kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the property to an impeccable standard at all times.
  • Perform detailed daily housekeeping throughout the residence.
  • Carry out deep cleaning on a regular basis, including areas such as inside refrigerators,
    underneath furniture, behind taps and other often-overlooked areas.
  • Care for luxury finishes including extensive marble flooring and surfaces, natural stone
    and leather.
  • Ensure the correct use of eco-friendly and child-safe cleaning products throughout the
    home.
  • Complete all laundry and ironing to an exceptional standard.
  • Care for luxury garments and household linens, including sports and swimwear, silk,
    cashmere, fine wool and other delicate fabrics.
  • Organise wardrobes, linens and household storage areas.
  • Accept household deliveries and ensure they are unpacked and stored appropriately.
  • Monitor and maintain household cleaning supplies and stock levels, ensuring products are
    replenished when required.
  • Assist with clearing the dining table and kitchen and loading/unloading the dishwasher
    following family meals.
  • Keep all housekeeping equipment clean, organised and in excellent condition.
  • Work independently and proactively, maintaining the home without supervision.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a high-end private household.
  • Excellent knowledge of luxury housekeeping techniques.
  • Proven experience caring for marble, natural stone, leather and other specialist finishes.
  • Extensive laundry experience, including the care of sports and swimwear, silk, cashmere
    and delicate fabrics.
  • Familiarity with environmentally friendly, non-toxic cleaning products, particularly within
    households with young children.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and pride in delivering immaculate results.
  • Highly organised, structured and proactive.
  • Able to work independently as the sole Housekeeper.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working across four floors with multiple staircases.
  • Professional, discreet and trustworthy.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working within an informal family home with a toddler,
    although no childcare duties are required.
  • Non-smoker.
  • Excellent references from previous private households.

Work conditions

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 40 hours per week

The schedule offers flexibility and may typically run from approximately 8:00-9:00 am until
6:00–6:30 pm, with a one to two-hour break during the day.

  • Start Date: Flexible. The family is happy to wait for the right candidate

A private self-contained staff apartment is provided with its own entrance, comprising:

  • Double bedroom
  • Bathroom
  • Sitting room
  • Kitchen

Salary

£50,000–£60,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.
