Job description

A high-net-worth private principal residing in Miami Beach is seeking an experienced, discreet, quick-thinking, and highly adaptable Private Housekeeper to join an informal yet demanding private household.

This is a permanent, long-term career position within a growing residential family property portfolio, offering excellent opportunities for future career progression into a Head Housekeeper or Assistant House Manager role.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional common sense, a proactive and multitasking mindset, and the ability to rapidly pivot between daily tasks (such as transitioning instantly from deep cleaning to preparing a custom smoothie or running an urgent pharmacy errand).

Comprehensive training will be provided directly by the outgoing housekeeper who is transitioning to maternity leave.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed daily cleaning, dusting, polishing, and organizing across the four-bedroom main residence to maintain an immaculate home environment.
  • Handle high-end, delicate, and expensive materials, finishes, and surfaces with absolute care.
  • Execute premium laundry care, expert ironing, and meticulous folding or garment upkeep.
  • Handle bed-making and frequent bed-linen changes.
  • Meticulously pack and unpack luggage for the principal's travel.
  • Pivot instantly on demand when the principal is in residence - dropping current tasks immediately to fulfill spontaneous requests, such as preparing a custom morning smoothie, etc.
  • Respond rapidly to last-minute instructions from the principal (e.g., dropping current tasks to pick up medication at the pharmacy on short notice).
  • Provide occasional assistance to the private chef in the kitchen when household events or schedules require extra hands.
  • Drive to local shops, pharmacies, and vendors to execute personal and household errands (candidate must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle).
  • Check the mail outside multiple times a day.
  • Accept deliveries, packages, and items on behalf of the household.
  • Order and manage inventory for cleaning supplies and materials.
  • Help stock the kitchen pantry and manage food item supplies.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with the Personal Assistant (PA), House Manager, fellow housekeepers, and household team.
  • Assist the House Manager and support broader estate logistics as requested.
  • Execute intensive deep cleaning, comprehensive property refreshes, and detailed organizational projects during the approximately four months per year when the principal is out of residence.

Requirements

  • Legal Work Authorization: Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder authorized to work in the United States.
  • Professional Experience: Proven background as a private housekeeper or domestic assistant within luxury households, maintaining high-end finishes and fine wardrobes.
  • Attitude & Agility: Quick-thinking, possessing strong common sense, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to seamlessly drop a current task to execute a high-priority, last-minute request from the principal.
  • Driver’s License & Vehicle: Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily local errands and pharmacy pickups.
  • Languages: Fluent English communication skills are required.
  • Background Check: Comprehensive background screening required prior to confirmation

Work conditions

  • Employment Type: W-2 Direct Hire, Permanent
  • Start Date: As Soon As Possible
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Weekend work may be required on an ad-hoc basis (paid separately as overtime).

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical insurance, social insurance, paid time off (PTO), holiday pay, Christmas bonus, and guaranteed year-round income (even during the ~4 months per year the principal is out of residence).

Salary

$80,000 – $85,000 per annum (based on experience, specialized garment care, and luxury estate standards), plus separate paid overtime for weekend hours.
