Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled, polished, and versatile Private / Corporate Chef with a strong restaurant background to oversee culinary operations for a high-profile principal and household.

Operating primarily out of a state-of-the-art office kitchen located just 10 minutes from the primary residence, the Chef will be responsible for preparing daily lunch and dinner service, conducting breakfast and weekend prep, and crafting curated snacks for travel and outings.

The ideal candidate brings a fresh, elevated culinary perspective directly from a top-tier restaurant environment. You are well-versed in diverse global cuisines, emphasize healthy, high-quality ingredients, and possess exceptional plating skills delivering beautifully presented meals without being overly fussy or pretentious.

Responsibilities

Culinary & Daily Service

  • Daily Meal Service: Plan, prepare, and deliver daily high-end lunch and dinner service to the residence and/or office.
  • Meal Prep: Prepare advance items for seamless breakfast service and weekend meals for the household.
  • Travel & Outings: Craft customized, high-quality snacks, packaged meals, and provisions for travel (private aviation) and day trips.
  • Menus & Customization: Design creative, diverse, and well-balanced weekly menus incorporating global cuisines tailored to dietary preferences, wellness goals, and seasonal availability.
  • Entertaining: Periodically concept and execute menus for private gatherings, executive lunches, and intimate dinner parties.

 

Kitchen Operations & Sanitation:

  • Spotless Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain meticulous standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across all working kitchens (office kitchen and residential kitchen during events).
  • Inventory & Sourcing: Manage all grocery shopping, sourcing pristine organic produce, premium proteins, and specialty ingredients from local vendors and artisanal markets.
  • Food Safety: Ensure strict adherence to safe food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control standards.

Requirements

  • Restaurant Experience Required: Strong culinary background working in high-end, fast-paced restaurant environments (e.g., Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef). Direct transition from restaurants to private service is preferred.
  • Culinary Style: Expert knowledge of global flavors and healthy, clean cooking techniques. Strong emphasis on beautiful, modern plating that remains approachable and unpretentious.
  • Professionalism: Highly polished, well-groomed, and discreet with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability & Organization: Excellent time management skills to handle offset kitchen delivery, travel prep, and flexible scheduling seamless.
  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for food transport between office kitchen and residence); clear background check.

Work conditions

  • Start Date: Flexible
  • Location: San Francisco, Bay Area
  • Schedule: Full-Time | 5 Days/Week (Lunch & Dinner Service + Weekend Prep)

 

Schedule & Working Conditions:

  • Days: 5 days per week (schedule to be finalized based on household needs; includes lunch/dinner coverage and weekend prep).
  • Primary Base: Office kitchen facility (10 minutes from residence), with food delivered fresh for service.
  • Occasional Travel/Events: On-site cooking at the main residence for special occasions or entertaining as needed.

Salary

Up to $150k / year (commensurate with experience), PTO/Health/401k
