Job description

A UHNW family based in Monaco, made up of parents in their forties and their five children, is seeking a live-in-household Private Chef to serve as head chef of the family kitchen.

The position is aimed at an experienced profile from private households or high-end restaurants, able to adapt their cooking to the family’s tastes as well as to the demands of daily service.

The chef works alongside a sous-chef, whom they manage and coordinate. They are mainly responsible for the family’s meals, particularly when guests are present. Discretion and confidentiality are absolute requirements.

Responsibilities

Family Cooking

Planning and preparing the family’s meals: lunches and dinners, as well as breakfasts and afternoon snacks as needed
Mediterranean, vegetarian and healthy cuisine on a daily basis
Command of other culinary repertoires according to the family’s wishes
Creating varied, seasonal menus tailored to everyone’s tastes, children included
Consistent quality and presentation at every service

Service & Entertaining

Taking charge of the family’s meals when guests are present: dinners, receptions and family occasions
Designing menus suited to each event
Organising service in coordination with the household staff

Kitchen Management & Organisation

Managing and coordinating the sous-chef, who is responsible for staff meals, snacks, afternoon snacks and procurement
Overseeing orders, purchasing and stock management
Maintaining and organising the kitchen in strict compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations (HACCP)

Availability & Mobility

Adapting to the family’s lifestyle
Accompanying the family on their travels as needed
Maintaining the same level of service wherever the family is

Requirements

Significant experience in private households or high-end restaurants
Excellent command of Mediterranean, vegetarian and healthy cuisine, as well as other culinary repertoires
Experience managing a sous-chef or a small kitchen brigade
Very good knowledge of hygiene regulations and HACCP principles
French and English essential
High degree of flexibility and availability: weekends, events, travel
Absolute discretion and confidentiality
Creativity, rigour, a strong sense of service and adaptability
Driving licence: required

Work conditions

Location: Monaco
Contract: Permanent (CDI) – Monegasque contract
Schedule: available at weekends
Travel: possible with the family
Start date: as soon as possible

Salary

According to profile and experience, paid monthly.
