Job description
A private family based in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai with 4 family members, 2 adults and 2 kids ages 8 and 9, is seeking an experienced and reliable Private Chef to prepare fresh, healthy, and high-quality meals for the household on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Mediterranean and European cuisine, particularly Russian cuisine, along with excellent menu planning and meal preparation skills.
The chef should be comfortable working independently in a private household and have a genuine passion for preparing nutritious, varied, and enjoyable meals for both adults and children.
This is a live-out position suited to a professional, organized, and discreet chef who can adapt to the family’s preferences and daily routines.
Responsibilities
Meal Preparation
- Prepare fresh daily meals, including lunch and dinner, for the family.
- Prepare healthy, nutritious, and appealing lunch boxes for the children.
- Use fresh, high-quality and premium ingredients.
- Prepare a variety of Mediterranean and European, particularly Russian, dishes.
- Follow the family’s preference to avoid Asian cuisine.
- Ensure meals are well-balanced, nutritious, and suitable for both adults and children.
Menu Planning
- Plan weekly menus in consultation with the family.
- Provide variety and creativity while maintaining a balanced approach to nutrition.
- Adapt menus according to the family’s preferences, dietary requirements, and seasonal
ingredients. - Prepare shopping lists and communicate ingredient requirements when necessary.
Kitchen Management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen at all times.
- Ensure proper food storage and handling in accordance with food safety standards.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and manage stock rotation effectively.
- Keep kitchen equipment and work areas clean and properly maintained.
Family Support
- Understand and follow the family’s preferences, routines, and meal schedules.
- Prepare meals according to the household’s daily requirements.
- Remain flexible when occasional changes to the schedule or meal requirements arise.
- Maintain a high level of discretion, professionalism, and respect for the privacy of the
household
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Private Chef, Family Chef, Home Chef, or similar role.
- Restaurant chefs with strong relevant experience who are interested in transitioning to
private household work are also welcome to apply. - Strong knowledge of Mediterranean and European, particularly Russian cuisine.
- Good understanding of healthy and nutritious cooking.
- Experience preparing meals for families and children.
- Strong menu planning and meal preparation skills.
- Organized, punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Professional presentation and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and confidently in a private household.
- Discreet, respectful, and comfortable working in a family environment.
