Job description
A busy UHNW (Ultra-High-Net-Worth) family based in NYC (Upper West Side) and East Hampton is seeking a reliable, skilled, and flexible Live-Out Cook / Household Assistant.
The ideal candidate will focus on preparing fresh, healthy daily meals for the family, running routine local errands, and maintaining an organized kitchen environment.
This is an informal home—no formal sit-down service is required for daily dining. Candidates must be comfortable around animals, as the home includes a friendly 40-pound dog.
Responsibilities
Culinary & Meal Preparation
- Daily Family Meals: Prepare nutritious, wholesome meals tailored to family members:
- After-School Meals: Prepare healthy meals/snacks ready when the 15-year-old daughter returns home from school.
- Workplace Meals: Prepare breakfast options, overnight oats, and high-quality packaged lunches for the wife to take to work.
- Dog Meals: Prepare chicken for the dog as well.
- Special Events: Assist with occasional family gatherings and entertaining (infrequent, informal setting).
- Kitchen Maintenance: Keep culinary prep areas, cooking equipment, and food storage impeccably clean and organized. (Note: A housekeeper visits 3 times a week to handle all deep cleaning, but kitchen must be cleaned after every use and not left for the housekeeper to clean).
Household Assistance & Errands
- Grocery & Supply Shopping: Manage inventory, source fresh ingredients, and restock kitchen essentials.
- Local Errands: Run routine local errands as needed to keep the household operating smoothly.
- Pet Care: Maintain a dog-friendly attitude and interact comfortably with the household's 40lb dog.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience as a Private Cook, Chef, or Household Assistant in a private family environment.
- Culinary Skills: Strong background in preparing healthy, balanced, and fresh meals suited for a high-functioning family.
- Dog-Friendly: Must be comfortable working around a medium-sized dog (40 lbs).
- Work Style: Self-starter with high discretion, adaptability, and time-management skills.
- Location & Mobility: Ability to commute reliably to the Upper West Side (and East Hampton when applicable, though no long-distance travel is required).

- Role Type: Full-Time, Long-Term, No Travel, No Weekends
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday, flexible hours to be discussed, occasional Fridays as needed
