Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced, discreet, and highly flexible Private Chef to support a warm, long-established private household in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
This is a full-time, live-out position suited for a culinary professional who thrives in a private-home environment and is comfortable balancing daily family meals with elevated entertaining. The family enjoys hosting friends regularly and values a chef who is adaptable, organized, and capable of delivering consistently high-quality cuisine in a relaxed yet refined setting.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, menu creativity, and the ability to accommodate dietary preferences, including gluten-free requirements, while maintaining consistently high culinary standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily meals for the family, aligned with preferences and dietary needs.
- Accommodate gluten-free requirements and other dietary considerations as needed.
- Plan and execute menus for family meals, casual gatherings, and social entertaining.
- Prepare meals in advance when appropriate, allowing for reheating during the week.
- Maintain flexibility to adapt menus and schedules based on the family’s needs.
- Manage kitchen organization, cleanliness, and daily upkeep.
- Oversee pantry management, food storage, and inventory control.
- Ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen protocols.
- Coordinate discreetly with household staff to support smooth service during events.
- Maintain a calm, professional presence during both routine days and entertaining.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Private Chef in high-end residential or luxury hospitality settings.
- Strong knowledge of gluten-free cooking and dietary accommodations.
- Ability to prepare a wide range of cuisines suitable for both family dining and entertaining.
- Experience managing grocery shopping, ingredient sourcing, and pantry provisioning independently.
- High level of flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules.
- Professional, discreet, and respectful of household privacy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working independently within a private residence.
- Ability to plan ahead while remaining responsive to last-minute requests.
- Collaborative mindset and ease working alongside long-tenured household staff.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Flexibility to travel with the family, from June to September. Principals live during this period between Fort Lauderdale and Aspen.
- Valid driver’s license.
