Job description
A distinguished single gentleman of Iranian background residing in a private residence on the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, is seeking a talented and professional Private Chef to deliver exceptional, personalized culinary experiences on a daily basis.
The principal spends approximately two to three months of the year at his residence in Zurich, Switzerland, and the successful candidate might travel alongside the principal to continue their role during this period.
This is an intimate, one-on-one household position requiring a chef who is highly skilled, discreet, culturally aware, and genuinely passionate about delivering restaurant-quality meals in a private home setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve breakfast and dinner daily, tailored precisely to the principal's tastes, preferences, and dietary requirements.
- Design and execute varied, thoughtful menus drawing on Iranian, Japanese, Arabic, and Egyptian culinary traditions.
- Demonstrate authentic mastery across all four cuisines with the ability to move fluently between them based on the principal's mood and preferences.
- Adapt menus seasonally and source the finest, freshest ingredients available.
- Prepare occasional special meals for guests or private entertaining as requested.
- Maintain the kitchen to impeccable standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization at all times.
- Manage kitchen inventory, grocery shopping, and ingredient sourcing from premium suppliers.
- Ensure proper food storage, stock rotation, and waste management.
- Keep all kitchen equipment in excellent working condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Travel with the principal to Zurich, Switzerland for approximately two to three months per year if needed.
- Maintain full continuity of service, quality, and standards across both residences.
- Adapt to local ingredient availability and market sourcing whilst travelling.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Private Chef, ideally serving a single principal or small private household.
- Authentic, hands-on expertise in Iranian, Japanese, Arabic, and Egyptian cuisines.
- Background in a five-star hotel, fine dining restaurant, or luxury private household strongly preferred.
- Meticulous attention to detail, presentation, and the highest culinary standards.
- Discreet, professional, and respectful of the principal's privacy and lifestyle.
- Flexible and available to travel internationally to Zurich for extended seasonal stays.
Work conditions
- Contract type: Full-time, permanent
- Schedule: 6 days per week, 1 day off
- Meals served: Breakfast and dinner daily
- Location: Palm Jumeirah, Dubai
