  • Prepare customized nutrient-dense meals following anti-inflammatory, low-glucose, high-fiber dietary requirements for one family member
  • Prepare and pack children’s school lunches for the next day as needed
  • Shop for daily and upcoming meals, prioritizing quality, freshness, and seasonality
  • Manage grocery lists, pantry inventory, and household staples
  • Maintain accurate receipts and follow household purchasing procedures
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and sanitary throughout the day with full reset after dinner service
  • Follow proper food safety, storage, and labeling practices while minimizing waste
  • Care for kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs promptly
  • Adapt menus to family preferences and accommodate occasional schedule changes
  • Prepare meals for guests, small gatherings, and Shabbat or holiday occasions as requested
  • Coordinate with other household staff as needed
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional culinary experience, including work as a private or personal chef in a household setting
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of kosher dietary laws and cooking practices
  • Experience preparing health-conscious, nutrient-dense meals
  • Ability to run multiple complementary menus with excellent timing and presentation
  • Strong menu-planning, shopping, and kitchen-management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a private residence
  • Current Austin resident with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Current food safety certification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible and service-oriented approach
  • Ability to pass a background check and provide professional references
  • A genuine love of cooking wholesome food
  • Takes initiative, stays organized, and handles changing plans with ease
  • Values discretion and understands what it means to be a trusted presence in a family’s home

  • Schedule built around grocery shopping, meal preparation, dinner service, and kitchen reset
  • Compensation commensurate with experience

  • Paid time off and sick days
  • Federal holidays
  • Occasional flexibility may be needed for gatherings, holidays, or schedule changes
  • Local Austin candidates only; no relocation assistance provided
