This is a key role combining strategic HR leadership with hands-on operational management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing employees based in the UAE while also overseeing the Group’s network of freelancers and independent professionals working across different countries.

Working closely with senior management, the HR Director will ensure that the Group has the right people, processes and HR framework to support its international growth.

Responsibilities

UAE Human Resources
  • Manage the full HR lifecycle for employees based in the UAE.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, contracts, probation periods, performance reviews and employee development.

  • Manage employee relations and support management in handling HR-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate with external HR, payroll, legal and government-service providers when required.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures appropriate for the Dubai office and UAE workforce.

International Freelancers & Contractors
  • Manage the Group’s international freelance workforce across multiple countries.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and administration of freelancers and independent contractors.
  • Ensure appropriate contracts, documentation and payment processes are in place.
  • Maintain an accurate database of freelancers, their locations, contracts, rates and status.
  • Coordinate with Finance regarding freelancer invoices, payments and outstanding documentation.
  • Work with legal advisors when specific contractual or compliance issues arise.
  • Help establish clear and consistent processes for engaging freelancers internationally.

Recruitment & Talent Management
  • Work closely with management to identify recruitment needs and define job profiles.
  • Lead or coordinate recruitment processes for key positions.
  • Develop efficient onboarding processes for employees and freelancers.
  • Establish performance management and evaluation processes.
  • Support managers in developing and retaining high-performing employees.
  • Help build a strong international talent pool for the Group.

HR Strategy & Organisation
  • Develop and implement the Group’s overall HR strategy in coordination with senior management.
  • Create standardized HR processes across the organisation.
  • Establish HR policies covering recruitment, onboarding, performance, compensation, leave, remote work and employee relations.
  • Develop HR reporting and dashboards for management.
  • Monitor headcount, payroll costs, recruitment, turnover and other key HR indicators.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the organisation, employee experience and operational efficiency.

Legal & Compliance Coordination
  • Act as the main HR point of contact for employment-related legal matters.
  • Coordinate with external lawyers and HR/legal advisors on employment contracts, disputes and international contractor matters.
  • Ensure that HR practices are appropriately adapted to the legal requirements of each relevant jurisdiction.
  • Identify potential HR and employment risks and escalate sensitive matters to management and external counsel when necessary.

Requirements

We are looking for a senior, autonomous and highly organised Human Resource professional who is comfortable working in an international and fast-moving environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 7+ years of experience in HR, ideally including a senior HR management position.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE employment practices and HR administration.
  • Experience managing employees in Dubai/UAE.
  • Experience working with international teams, freelancers or contractors.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, employment contracts and employee relations.
