Housekeeper job (M/F) in Armonk, New York, USA
Job description
Seeking an experienced, meticulous, and highly professional Housekeeper to care for a newly built private residence in Irvington, NY (temporarily in Armonk, NY as the Irvington home is not yet ready).
This is a hands on role for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, treats the home and its contents with the utmost care, and can work independently while following the household's established standards and routines.
Responsibilities
Cleaning & Home Care
- Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the home
- Handle all belongings, furnishings, furniture, and decor with exceptional care, including fine art
- Develop a proposed cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, and monthly tasks) for the employer's review and approval, and maintain it consistently once approved
- Proactively identify and address areas that need attention, rather than waiting to be asked
Household Management
- Complete weekly grocery shopping, including selecting seasonal, high quality fruits and vegetables
- Prepare simple, wholesome dinners for the family (typically for three, occasionally for four)
- Manage all laundry, including clothing, bedding, and towels
- Monitor and replenish household supplies as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a private housekeeper
- Prior experience working in a high end, luxury residence, with demonstrated care around fine art, high value furnishings, and finishes
- Strong cooking skills for simple, family style meals
- Knowledge of seasonal produce and grocery selection
- Excellent laundry and garment care skills
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to work methodically and systematically
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Polished, professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions
- Trustworthy, discreet, and reliable
Work conditions
- Position: Private Housekeeper
- Location: Irvington, NY (temporarily Armonk, NY as the family has not yet relocated)
- Employment Type: Full time, permanent, live-out
- Hours: Monday-Friday from 11am - 8pm
- Start Date: ASAP
