Job description

A friendly and welcoming family of four located in Armonk, New York is seeking a professional, mature, and long-term, Live-out Housekeeper with over 7+ years of experience.

The focus of this position is to meticulously manage household duties, assist with daily organization.

While the family maintains a relatively relaxed and warm home environment, they are seeking a candidate who brings exceptional professionalism, a strong work ethic, reliability, and high accountability to the position.

The ideal candidate takes their role seriously, can independently problem-solve, and communicates with respect and maturity.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Home Care

  • Maintain the new residence in Irvington, NY (or starting in Armonk residence if not moved by start time) and keep in high standards of neatness and tidiness.
  • Create a cleaning schedule/plan for daily, weekly and monthly cleaning
  • Clean countertops, load/unload the dishwasher, wash pots and pans, and clean/maintain small appliances.
  • Manage recycling, take out the garbage, perform light dusting, and handle general upkeep as required.
  • Note: The family utilizes a deep-cleaning service bi-weekly; daily upkeep and tidiness are the focus of this role.

 

Laundry & Linens

  • Manage the full laundry cycle for the family: wash, fold, and carefully put away clothing.
  • Wash and change towels and bed linens routinely. Replenish all household supplies.
  • Make up beds.

 

Groceries, Inventory, & Errands

  • Create weekly shopping lists, complete grocery trips, unpack items, and maintain an organized pantry inventory.
  • Perform external errands including dropping off/picking up dry cleaning and handling incoming packages.
  • Shop for in season fruits & vegetables
  • Take family vehicles for routine car washes and scheduled maintenance appointments.

 

Cooking & Meal Prep

  • Plan, prepare, and organize healthy snacks and simple meals for the family and children as needed.

Requirements

  • High-End Cleaning & Care: Execute thorough cleaning while exercising extreme care with high-end furnishings, custom millwork, delicate surfaces, and expensive artwork.
  • Art & Furnishings Maintenance: Safely dust, clean, and preserve art, sculptures, and designer furniture using approved techniques and non-damaging, premium products.
  • Proactive Estate Management: Actively identify and address messes, maintenance needs, or disorganization without waiting for direction.
  • Systematic Execution: Follow strict care protocols, working systematically and independently to maintain an immaculate environment.
  • Seasonal Produce Procurement: Select and purchase high-quality fruits and vegetables based on optimal seasonal availability.
  • Proven Luxury Experience: Prior background working in high-end private residences containing valuable art collections and luxury finishes.
  • Meticulous Eye for Detail: Exceptional precision in organizing, cleaning, and preserving home aesthetics.
  • Professional Standards: Clean, professional appearance, polished demeanor, and utmost respect for employer privacy.
  • Independent & Methodical: Self-starter who manages time efficiently and follows written and verbal instructions to the letter.

Work conditions

  • Start Date: Mid-September
  • Location: Armonk, NY (Westchester County)
  • Schedule: Full-time schedule, Monday-Friday (approximately 45 hours/week)
  • Standard Hours: Approximately 45 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
    • Seasonal Schedule Shifts: Daily shift times adjust seasonally to align with the children' school and camp schedules:
    • School Year (September–May): Typically, 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM, depending on the day of the week and specific after-school activities.
    • Summer Months (June–August): Typically shifts earlier to 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM to align with summer camp schedules.
  • Weekend Flexibility: On rare occasions, the family may request additional assistance on a Saturday or Sunday (e.g., when one parent is traveling out of town unexpectedly).

Salary

$105k gross annual, depending on experience.  Full benefits and 401k.
