Job description
We are looking for a Caretaker/Housekeeper for our client’s family second home near Deauville (Calvados, 14).
You will be responsible for the upkeep of the house interior, minor DIY, and the routine maintenance of the outdoor equipment.
Start date: November/December. Permanent contract (CDI), 35 hours per week. Independent staff accommodation is provided.
Responsibilities
- Interior upkeep (housekeeping duties)
- Preparing the bedrooms before the employer arrives
- Laundry: sorting, washing, ironing and putting away
- Grocery shopping and other supplies
- Preparing breakfast when the employer is in residence
- Setting the table when the employer is in residence
- Looking after the vegetable garden
- Looking after the henhouse (feeding, cleaning inside)
- Maintaining the tennis court
- Minor DIY and repairs
- Maintaining the terraces and garden furniture
- Vehicle upkeep (keeping the service log, arranging servicing…)
- Receiving parcels and deliveries
- Welcoming external contractors and following up on their work
- Reporting any equipment faults to the owner
- Site security and caretaking
- Reporting to the owner
Requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar professional setting
- A versatile, independent, organised and energetic person
- Able to take the initiative
- Good DIY skills
- Comfortable with animals (hens, rabbits…)
- Complete discretion towards the employer
- French speaker
- Driving licence required
