Job description

A warm, hands-on family is seeking an experienced, calm, and flexible Nanny to support them as their family grows. The role involves caring for a 2-year-old boy who attends nursery on weekdays until midday and naps in the afternoon, as well as a 9-month-old baby who is at home full time, with a third baby expected.

The mother is very present and actively involved in daily childcare, and a weekday nanny is already in place and will continue in her role. The nanny will mainly provide weekend support and overnight supervision, helping the family manage busy weekends and allowing the parents to rest at night.

This is a collaborative and relaxed household where teamwork is valued. Openness to transitioning into a rota position from around August 2026, once the maternity nurse leaves, would be a strong advantage, although the role may also remain temporary or non-rota depending on the candidate.

Responsibilities

Childcare

  • Support the care of a toddler and baby alongside the parents and existing nanny.
  • Provide age-appropriate play, routines, and activities.
  • Take occasional sole charge when the parents go out.
  • Prepare simple, healthy meals for the children.

Weekend Support

  • Main working days to include weekends (exact schedule to be agreed).
  • Provide hands-on support when the father is working.

Night Supervision

  • Monitor baby monitors overnight.
  • Children generally sleep well; intervention is rarely required.
  • Alert the parents if needed.

General Household Support (Child-Related)

  • Take full responsibility for all child-related organisation and upkeep, including:

    • Maintaining children’s bedrooms and play areas in a clean, organised, and child-friendly condition

    • Managing children’s laundry, wardrobe organisation, and clothing rotation

    • Tidying and organising toys, books, and play equipment

    • Preparing and organising children’s meals and mealtimes

  • Support daily routines and transitions in a structured and calm manner.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on, team-player attitude within a collaborative household.

Travel

  • Be comfortable travelling with the family throughout the year, including:

    • Florence (until mid-March 2026)

    • London (March–June 2026, for the birth of the baby)

    • France (June–September 2026)

    • Florence (from September 2026 onwards)

Requirements

  • Experienced nanny with strong infant and toddler experience.
  • Comfortable working alongside hands-on parents.
  • Calm, flexible, reliable, and discreet.
  • Open-minded regarding how the role may evolve over time.
  • Excellent references with strong longevity in previous roles.

Work conditions

  • Approx. 5 working days per week, including weekends.
  • Overnight supervision included.
  • UK or Italian contract available (both options possible).
  • Temporary contract until approximately August 2026, with potential transition to a long-term rota role.
  • Start date: As soon as possible.

Salary

£350–£400 gross per 24 hours
