Job description
A family in Al Sufouh 2, Dubai is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Nanny to care for their 6-year-old son who has ADHD, requires positive behaviour support, and has speech delays.
The role requires a qualified childcare professional with SEN training and experience working with children with developmental needs.
The position involves coordinating therapy sessions, providing structured care. The ideal candidate will be patient, kind, and experienced in supporting children with special educational needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialised care and positive behaviour support for a 6-year-old child with ADHD and speech delays
- Transport the child to and from therapy sessions (7am–2pm on weekdays, until 4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays for extra-curricular activities)
- Coordinate the daily care schedule
- Assist with the morning routine, including waking the child and making the bed
- Support the child’s therapy goals and implement strategies recommended by therapists
- Engage the child in age-appropriate activities that promote development and learning
- Maintain consistent routines and structure to support the child’s needs
- Communicate effectively with the parents about the child’s progress and daily activities
- Ensure the child’s safety and wellbeing at all times
Requirements
- Compassionate and experienced nanny
- Relevant childcare qualifications and specialised training in special educational needs
- Proven experience working with children with ADHD, speech delays and developmental challenges
- Strong knowledge of positive behaviour support strategies (essential)
- Fluent in English
- Patient and kind
- Excellent communication skills and reliability
- A genuine passion for supporting children with special needs
Work conditions
- Full-time, 6 days per week
- Working hours: 6am to 9pm
- Therapy transportation from 7am to 2pm most days, extended until 4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays for extra-curricular activities
- Live-in accommodation provided in a maid’s room with a shared bathroom
- Prompt start preferred, as the current nanny is leaving this month
