Job description

A lovely European family based in Dubai is seeking an experienced, proactive and hands-on Senior Housekeeper / Junior House Manager to join their private household.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced housekeeper looking to progress into a more senior role.

The successful candidate will work alongside and supervise two housekeeping staff while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day housekeeping of the residence.

As the family's property portfolio grows over the coming years, there is genuine opportunity for the role to develop into a House Manager position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the home to an exceptionally high standard whilst ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the housekeeping department.

This is a hands-on position, requiring someone who leads by example, takes initiative, anticipates the family's needs, and is happy to work alongside the housekeeping team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily hands-on housekeeping to the highest standards.
  • Supervise and support two junior housekeeping staff.
  • Ensure all cleaning, laundry, ironing and wardrobe care are completed to an exceptional standard.
  • Organise household supplies and maintain inventories.
  • Ensure the property remains immaculate and well organised at all times.
  • Prepare formal table settings and assist with occasional service when required.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers when necessary.
  • Assist with household organisation and day-to-day administration.
  • Support the family with occasional childcare or pet care when required.
  • Assist with preparing the family home for guests and travel.
  • Travel with the family on occasion if required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Housekeeper within a private household.
  • Experience working in formal or semi-formal private residences.
  • Excellent housekeeping and laundry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptionally high standards.
  • A proactive, energetic and hands-on approach.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • The confidence to supervise junior staff while remaining actively involved in daily housekeeping.
  • The ability to use initiative, solve problems independently and anticipate the family's needs.
  • A positive, discreet and professional manner.
  • Fluent English.
  • A valid driving licence is advantageous.

Work conditions

Working Schedule

  • Live-in or live-out.
  • 6 days per week.
  • Approximately 12 hours per day, with flexibility depending on the family's schedule.
  • Occasional travel within the UAE and internationally.
