Job description

A warm and international family based in Zug, Switzerland is seeking an experienced, energetic, and engaging Rota Nanny to care for their two children aged 7 and 8 years old.

The successful candidate will work in a well-established childcare team and will be responsible for supporting the children's daily routines, development, education, and activities.

The family is looking for a positive, flexible, and easy-going nanny who genuinely enjoys spending time with active and sporty children and who can create a fun, stimulating, and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, nurturing, and age-appropriate care for two homeschooled children aged 7 and 8
  • Support the children’s daily routines, wellbeing, and educational development
  • Work closely with tutors and parents to ensure a smooth and consistent homeschooling programme
  • Encourage learning through a Socratic approach, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, dialogue, and independent problem-solving
  • Plan and organise engaging educational, creative, and sporting activities
  • Keep the children active, stimulated, and engaged through a variety of indoor and outdoor pursuits
  • Encourage independence, confidence, responsibility, and good manners
  • Maintain the children’s bedrooms, wardrobes, school materials, and play areas in excellent order
  • Assist with packing and unpacking during family travel
  • Travel with the family when required

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a nanny within private households
  • Experience caring for and engaging school-aged children
  • Experience supporting homeschooling or working alongside tutors is highly advantageous
  • Familiarity with the Socratic approach to learning, or a genuine interest in child-led learning and critical thinking
  • Fluent English, French, or Italian is essential
  • Additional languages are considered an advantage
  • Active, sporty, and energetic personality
  • Ability to keep up with highly active children who enjoy sports and outdoor activities
  • Positive, flexible, adaptable, and easy-going attitude
  • Organised, proactive, and capable of working independently
  • Discreet, trustworthy, and professional
  • Valid driving licence (driving children is generally not part of daily duties)
  • Strong preference for candidates based in Switzerland or within easy commuting distance (e.g. neighbouring regions of France or Italy)

Work conditions

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Rota schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
  • Flexibility required during travel periods and busy family schedules
  • Accommodation provided while on duty
  • Occasional travel required with the family
  • Start date: As soon as possible

Salary

Negotiable, depending on experience, qualifications, and candidate profile
