Job description

We are seeking a highly qualified Live-in Nanny to provide specialized developmental support and daily care for a two-year-old child with cerebral palsy and visual impairment.

This is a unique, long-term opportunity for a professional with training in pediatric physical therapy or occupational therapy who is comfortable integrating therapeutic knowledge into a nurturing nanny role.

The successful candidate will work closely with the parents to support the implementation of therapy plans developed by external specialists, reinforcing exercises and developmental routines within the home environment.

While therapeutic knowledge is highly valued, the role is not a licensed therapy position. The candidate will support the child’s development by following existing therapy guidance while also providing attentive daily childcare.

The position requires flexibility, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative mindset in order to support the child’s development within a structured and loving household environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement daily routines supporting the child’s developmental progress.
  • Reinforce exercises and therapeutic activities recommended by external therapists.
  • Support visual therapy exercises and developmental activities.
  • Assist with feeding, play, mobility, and engagement appropriate for the child’s developmental stage.
  • Monitor developmental progress and communicate observations with the parents.
  • Meals preparation for the child.
  • Support child-related grocery errands when appropriate.
  • Help maintain organization related to the child’s daily care.
  • Coordinate with government therapists and private specialists involved in the child’s care.
  • Reinforce therapy plans developed in Canada, Hungary, and the United States.
  • Assist in coordinating therapy schedules and related logistics.
  • Provide attentive and nurturing childcare at all times.
  • Maintain structured routines aligned with therapeutic goals.
  • Travel internationally with the family for therapy appointments and family trips.
  •  Maintain organized documentation of exercises and therapeutic practices.

Requirements

  • Degree in Pediatric Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy (or equivalent training).
  • Experience working with children with cerebral palsy.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood developmental milestones.
  • Ability to support and implement structured therapy-based routines.
  • Willingness to integrate therapeutic knowledge within a nanny role.
  • Valid driver’s license and confident driving experience.
  • Ability and visas to travel internationally (U.S., Canada, Europe).
  • High emotional intelligence with a nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English.

Work conditions

  • Location: Smith's, Bermuda
  • Accommodation: Private condominium provided (approximately 15 minutes from family residence)
  • Immigration: Work permit sponsored and managed by the employer

Salary

Competitive salary based on experience.
