Full-Time Nanny job (M/F) in Puerto Rico & Connecticut, USA
Job description
A private family is seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly engaged Nanny to care for their three school-aged children.
This role is designed to mirror a previously successful long-term arrangement and emphasizes consistency, reliability, and strong partnership with the parents.
The ideal candidate is professional, proactive, and committed to supporting the children’s development and daily routines.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for three school-aged children
- Assist with morning routines and school drop-offs
- Support homework, after-school activities, and emotional well-being
- Collaborate closely with the mother during afternoons and evenings
- Manage evening routines including dinner, bath time, and bedtime
- Perform household tasks while children are in school, including:
- Light housekeeping
- Children’s laundry
- Meal preparation
- Running errands
- Walking the family’s two small dogs (preferred but not required)
- Assist with light pet care as time allows (mother is typically very hands-on with dog walks)
Requirements
- Minimum of six years of professional childcare experience.
- Experience working with children with differing needs and/or an occupational therapy (OT) background is highly valued.
- Strong swimmer; must be comfortable supervising children in both a backyard pool and the ocean.
- Comfortable driving and using golf carts within the community.
- Valid driver’s license; car provided for work-related transportation.
- Spanish-speaking ability, or conversational proficiency, is highly preferred.
- Reliable, organized, flexible, and collaborative.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, family-centered environment.
Work conditions
Location & Living Arrangements
- Primary residence: Puerto Rico
- Summer residence: Greenwich, Connecticut (May–August)
- Live-out arrangement preferred; however, the family is open to a live-in arrangement or assisting with separate housing in Puerto Rico for the right candidate
- Housing stipend provided to help offset nearby living costs
- Nanny must be willing to live in during periods when the father is traveling (working hours will remain unchanged)
- Live-in accommodations include a private bedroom and bathroom in both Puerto Rico and Connecticut
- Puerto Rico residence includes a private side entrance for added privacy
Children
- Three children, ages 10, 8, and 5
- Oldest: Boy
- Middle: Girl (participates in soccer)
- Youngest: Boy (school schedule varies slightly)
- All children are school-aged
- No known allergies in the household
Schedule
The schedule may be structured in one of the following ways:
Option 1:
- Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–8:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Option 2 (Split Schedule):
- Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–8:00 PM
- Includes an unpaid mid-day break between completing household responsibilities and returning for school pick-up around 2:30 PM
Typical daily structure may include:
- · 7:00 AM–11:00 AM: Morning routines, school drop-offs, and household tasks.
- · 11:00 AM–2:30 PM: Midday break/free time.
- · 2:30 PM–8:00 PM: School pick-ups, activities, dinner, bath, and bedtime routines.
- · The position guarantees 40 hours per week, with flexibility in how those hours are distributed.

Travel
- Family resides in Greenwich, CT from May through August.
- Periodic family travel throughout the year.
- Nanny is expected to travel with the family for vacations (typically one week in length).
- Holidays off to allow time with the nanny’s own family.
