Job description

A professional family in Dallas, Texas is seeking a highly qualified nanny with Norland training or equivalent experience to provide exceptional care for their three children.

The mother has a demanding career requiring extensive travel, making this role essential to maintaining stability and structure in the household.

This is a full-time, live-out position offering a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off and health insurance.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years of experience in sole charge positions and be prepared to commit to a minimum of two years with the family.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sole-charge care for three children ages 7 to 11 with demanding schedules, taking full responsibility for maintaining an organized, disciplined, and highly structured household environment.
  • Establish and consistently enforce clear rules, firm boundaries, and behavioral expectations, with a strong emphasis on accountability, respect, and age-appropriate discipline.
  • The nanny must be confident taking an authoritative approach to childcare, addressing behavioral issues immediately and consistently rather than allowing children to negotiate or disregard established expectations.
  • This position requires someone who is comfortable being firm, setting limits, and following through with consequences, even when met with resistance.
  • The priority is not to be the children’s friend, but to serve as a respected authority figure who provides consistent leadership, guidance, and structure.
  • A primary objective is to ensure that behavioral expectations, routines, and responsibilities are effectively managed throughout the day so that when the mother returns home, she can focus on enjoying quality time with her children rather than correcting behavior or enforcing discipline.
  • Daily responsibilities include preparing nutritious meals and snacks for the children, managing morning and evening routines, coordinating schedules, and safely transporting the children to and from school, extracurricular activities, appointments, and social engagements.
  • Provide educational support through homework assistance, monitoring academic progress, encouraging independent study habits, and ensuring school-related responsibilities are completed.
  • Oversee children’s laundry, maintain organization of their bedrooms, play areas, and personal belongings, and encourage age-appropriate chores and personal responsibility.
  • Reinforce proper etiquette, manners, respectful communication, and appropriate social behavior throughout daily activities.
  • Proactively plan engaging, age-appropriate activities that support the children’s development while maintaining consistency with established household rules and routines.
  • Provide overnight care when the mother travels for work.
  • Maintain a nurturing, safe, and supportive environment while upholding the family’s high standards for behavior, discipline, and household structure.

Requirements

  • Norland-trained nanny or equivalent professional with 10+ years of childcare experience in sole-charge roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in establishing and consistently enforcing structure, discipline, firm boundaries, and daily routines for children.
  • The family places an exceptionally strong emphasis on maintaining a structured household and is seeking a confident, authoritative nanny who is comfortable correcting inappropriate behavior, implementing age-appropriate disciplinary measures, and holding children accountable to clear expectations.
  • The ideal candidate must be firm, consistent, and confident in their approach, understanding that their role is to provide guidance, leadership, and discipline rather than act as a friend or playmate.
  • A key priority is ensuring that the children are well-behaved, respectful, and accustomed to established routines so that when the mother returns home, she can enjoy meaningful, quality time with them rather than having to address behavioral issues or reinforce boundaries.
  • Strong background in teaching etiquette, manners, respect, and appropriate behavior is essential.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work overnight when required due to parental travel.
  • Professional demeanor with impeccable references.
  • Commitment to staying with the family for a minimum of two years.
  • Available to start immediately.

Work conditions

  • Full-time position with competitive salary of approximately 80,000–110,000 USD per year based on experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off and health insurance.
  • Flexibility required for overnight coverage during parental travel.
  • Minimum two-year commitment expected.
  • Immediate start preferred.

Salary

Competitive salary of approximately 80,000–110,000 USD per year based on experience and qualifications.
