Full-Time Nanny job ( M/F) in Barcelona, Spain
Job description
The family is seeking a trustworthy, positive, and adaptable Live-In Nanny who will integrate smoothly into family life while respecting personal boundaries. The role combines childcare and housekeeping, with responsibilities varying depending on whether the children are present.
The family consists of two parents and two boys aged 2 and 9, as well as a small family dog (no care required). The residence is a large private home (approximately 600 m²), though the family mainly occupies one floor. There is a permanent live-out household assistant already in place, who also supports with childcare. The nanny will work alongside her, sharing duties.
Long-term commitment is very important to the family, as is finding the right personality fit, rather than simply filling the position.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the children’s emotional and developmental needs.
- Maintaining daily routines.
- Preparing breakfast for the eldest child before school.
- Providing age-appropriate, creative, and stimulating activities.
- Taking the youngest child to the park and organising suitable activities.
- Being flexible and supportive during weeks when the children are fully present.
- Travelling with the family during summer and winter holidays.
- Supporting the permanent household assistant with daily upkeep.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation to a high standard.
- Managing laundry, including luxury clothing, with careful attention to labels.
- Adapting to days focused more on childcare or more on housekeeping as needed.
- Joining the family for lunch when appropriate (encouraged)
- Dinner generally taken independently in the nanny’s private space
- Working collaboratively with the existing household assistant
- Flexibility required for occasional evening duties
- Maintaining discretion, professionalism, and a positive attitude
Requirements
- Comfortable around dogs
- Driving licence is a plus (potential access to a car for errands/personal use)
- Cooking is not required, though enjoying baking or simple cooking with the children is appreciated
- Calm, balanced, resourceful, and genuinely happy to be part of family life
- Trust, reliability, and discretion
