Nanny/Head Housekeeper job (M/F) in Paris, France
Job description
A Parisian family from the 16th arrondissement, comprising the parents and three children (ages 6, 9, and 11) in shared/alternating custody, is seeking an experienced Nanny/Housekeeper (M/F). This position is suited to a caring, motivated, organised, and reliable professional, ready to build a lasting place within this family's life.
This role is structured around the alternating custody schedule:
- Weeks 1 & 3: full presence — childcare, household management, and family cooking
- Weeks 2 & 4: weeks without the children — role refocused on household management, cooking, and home organisation, with a lighter hourly workload
A cleaner is already in place and handles the overall cleaning of the home, so the candidate will focus exclusively on household management, cooking, and childcare (with some help on household tasks when the cleaner is not present).
Permanent contract (CDI) — Part-time (approximately 90 hours per month)
Responsibilities
WEEK WITH THE CHILDREN (Weeks 1 & 3)
Childcare
- Picking the children (6, 9, and 11) up from school at the end of the day
- Accompanying them to after-school and sports activities
- Helping with homework and providing age-appropriate academic support
- Organising fun, creative, and educational activities
- Bath time, evening routine, and getting ready for bed
- Occasional evening babysitting depending on the parent's needs
Household Management & Cooking
- Grocery shopping and supply management
- Preparing evening meals for the children and the family — healthy, balanced cooking suited to each age
- Serving meals and tidying the kitchen after dinner
- Managing the children's laundry (washing, drying, putting away)
- Keeping the children's living spaces tidy (bedrooms, playroom)
WEEK WITHOUT THE CHILDREN (Weeks 2 & 4)
Household Management & Cooking
- Grocery shopping and food stock management
- Preparing meals for the parent
- Serving meals and tidying the kitchen
- Managing family laundry
- Occasional coordination with service providers if needed
- Organising and managing household supplies
SAMPLE SCHEDULE
Hours are adjustable according to the family's needs.
Week with the children (x2 per month)
- Monday / Tuesday / Thursday / Friday: 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm (5h/day × 4 days = 20h)
- Evening babysitting: 2 evenings × 3h = 6h
- Wednesday: full day = 9h
- Total: 35h/week × 2 weeks per month = 70h
Week without the children (x2 per month)
- Lighter schedule: approximately 10h of work spread from Monday to Friday
- Total: 10h/week × 2 weeks per month = 20h
Total monthly hours: 90 hours/month
Requirements
- Proven experience caring for children of different ages (6 to 11)
- Comfortable in the kitchen: healthy, balanced family meals
- Organised, autonomous, and rigorous in day-to-day management
- Caring, patient, and naturally at ease with children
- Reliable, discreet, and loyal: long-term commitment
- Comfortable with the alternating custody rhythm and schedule variations
- Verifiable references from families for similar roles
- Driving licence appreciated
