Job description
Our client is seeking a semi-retired or retired couple to look after their secondary residence located in the hills of Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes). The couple will be responsible for both the interior and exterior maintenance of the property.
The position is to start in April 2026 on a part-time permanent contract (CDI). The property is occupied approximately six months per year. A beautiful independent staff accommodation is provided. This position is ideal as a complementary source of income for an experienced couple.
Responsibilities
- General cleaning, tidying, dusting, and maintenance of the house
- Managing household cleaning supplies and inventories
- Laundry care, ironing, folding, and wardrobe organization
- Preparing simple, family-style meals upon request
- Table setting and table service when required
- Grocery shopping and managing household supplies
- Performing light DIY tasks and small household repairs
- Overseeing maintenance of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, alarm, and gate systems
- Monitoring and upkeep of the septic tank, drainage, and rainwater systems
- Maintaining the vegetable garden, greenhouse, vines, and olive trees
- Managing watering and irrigation systems
- Providing overall property security and supervision
- Cleaning terraces and maintaining garden furniture
- Liaising with external service providers, suppliers, and tradespeople
- Cleaning and maintaining vehicles (interior and exterior)
- Keeping a maintenance log for vehicles
- Acting as driver for the family and/or guests, including airport transfers
- Managing purchases, expenses, and recordkeeping of receipts
- Managing household and garden waste disposal
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Serious, dedicated, and hands-on individuals
- Semi-retired or retired couple preferred
- Discreet, reliable, and self-sufficient
- Flexible to work weekends during the owners’ stays
- Strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism
- Fluent French speakers
- Valid driver’s license
Work conditions
- Position: Caretaker Couple
- Start Date: April 2026
- Location: Grasse, Alpes-Maritimes, France
- Contract: Permanent (CDI)
- Working Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week (per couple)
- Accommodation: Independent 65m² apartment with a private 35m² terrace
- Probation Period: 3 months
- Annual Leave: To be taken in October and March

€17 gross per hour
