Job description
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and personable Leisure & Grounds Host for a British private family residence on Nurai Island, Abu Dhabi.
The villa is fully staffed and is used by the family as a private residence as well as for hosting family, friends, and guests. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the outdoor leisure areas and grounds while also providing a friendly, professional, and proactive service to the family and their guests.
This is a highly guest-facing role and would suit someone with experience in a private household, luxury hospitality, butler service, guest relations, hospitality, or guest services. Previous experience with all of the specific duties is not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.
About the Home
The property has extensive outdoor areas and leisure facilities, including water sports, a swimming pool, spa facilities, outdoor games, fire pits, beach areas, gazebos, and outdoor entertaining spaces.
The villa is fully staffed, and the successful candidate will work as part of the wider household team. The role involves a combination of guest service, outdoor grounds maintenance, leisure support, and practical hands-on duties.
There will also be some manual work involved, particularly when preparing water sports equipment, assisting guests, maintaining outdoor areas, and ensuring the property is fully prepared for the family's arrival and throughout their stay.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming and assisting the family and guests with a friendly and professional approach.
- Providing attentive and personalised guest service throughout their stay.
- Assisting guests with luggage upon arrival and departure.
- Transporting the family and guests between the port and villa using the buggy.
- Preparing, setting up, and putting away water sports equipment.
- Assisting guests with water sports activities and ensuring equipment is ready for use.
- Assisting with the operation and preparation of spa facilities.
- Checking the swimming pool temperature and maintaining the pool area.
- Setting up and maintaining outdoor games and fire pits.
- Maintaining the outdoor grounds, including basic gardening and general upkeep.
- Clearing debris from the beach and raking the beach daily.
- Cleaning and maintaining gazebo and outdoor seating areas.
- Preparing loungers, umbrellas, and towels for guests.
- Covering loungers and umbrellas when not in use or during windy conditions.
- Uncovering and preparing outdoor areas each morning when the family or guests are in
residence. - Cleaning lounger cushions after guests leave.
- Hoovering rugs every morning and after meals.
- Assisting with BBQ areas, ice machines, fridges, and outdoor kitchen areas.
- Checking outdoor equipment and facilities and reporting any issues promptly.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety, and guest readiness.
- Assisting with general outdoor and manual tasks as required.
- Supporting the wider household team with other duties when needed.
- Being proactive and anticipating the needs of the family and guests.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Butler, Private Household professional, Guest Relations Host, Hospitality Host, Guest Services Host, or in a similar luxury hospitality or client-facing role.
- Experience in a private household, luxury hospitality, butler service, guest relations, hospitality, or guest services is preferred.
- African passport holders are preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident and comfortable speaking with guests and engaging with them when required.
- Warm, friendly, and approachable personality.
- Naturally proactive with the ability to show initiative.
- Hardworking, reliable, practical, and hands-on.
- Comfortable working outdoors and carrying out physical and manual tasks.
- Good attention to detail and high standards of presentation.
- Flexible and willing to assist with different duties as required.
- Previous experience with water sports, gardening, pool, or spa facilities is an advantage, but not essential.
- Willingness to learn, as training can be provided for the right candidate.

Work conditions
- Position: Full-time, live-in, long-term

- Working Days: 6 days per week, 1 day off
- Working Hours: According to the family's schedule and household requirements
- Annual Leave: 30 calendar days
- Start Date: ASAP
- Visa sponsorship, medical insurance, and annual flight ticket provided as per UAE labour
