Job description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team in San Francisco.

You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our employees and visitors.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of workplace hygiene, and is comfortable navigating a modern office or industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning & Sanitization: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces (door handles, elevators, light switches) and restrooms.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash, recycling, and compost bins; ensure proper sorting in compliance with San Francisco’s mandatory recycling and composting ordinances.
  • Facility Maintenance: Clean glass surfaces and windows; dust furniture, fixtures, and vents; restock paper products and soap dispensers.
  • Safety & Security: Identify and report potential safety hazards or repair needs (e.g., leaky faucets, burnt-out lights); ensure all entry points are secured after hours.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor cleaning supply levels and notify management when reordering is necessary.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience as a janitor, custodian, or in a similar commercial cleaning role.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with the use and disposal of various cleaning chemicals and equipment (buffers, steamers, industrial vacuums).
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive motions.
  • Reliability: Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work conditions

  • Location: San Francisco
  • Schedule: Full time, Permanent

 

Salary

$50k-$60k, depending on experience
