Job description
We are seeking a mature, responsible, and highly independent Housekeeper / Driver for a private family residence at Eome Residences in Dubai.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day housekeeping, general upkeep, and maintenance of the residence, as well as driving and household-related errands when required.
The family currently employs one full-time maid who has been with the household since 2022. The new Housekeeper / Driver will work alongside the existing staff member and should be comfortable taking responsibility for their own duties while also working cooperatively as part of the household team. A respectful, friendly, and collaborative approach is essential, as maintaining a positive working relationship with the existing maid is particularly important to the family.
The family only resides in Dubai for approximately two to three months per year. During the family's stay, the successful candidate will provide household support as required. When the family is away, the workload will be considerably lighter, with the candidate responsible for maintaining the residence and ensuring that the household remains organised and well managed in the family's absence.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out daily housekeeping and maintenance cleaning of the residence.
- Maintaining cleanliness, order, and presentation of the property to a high standard.
- Regularly checking and maintaining bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, and other household spaces.
- Ensuring the residence is properly maintained and prepared before the family's arrival.
- Independently managing routine household duties during the family's absence.
- Monitoring household supplies and preparing replenishment lists when required.
- Organising cupboards, storage areas, household items, and supplies.
- Receiving and managing household deliveries when required.
- Coordinating with maintenance workers, technicians, and other service providers attending
the property. - Providing updates to the family regarding household matters, maintenance, deliveries, and
supplies. - Carrying out household-related errands and driving duties when required.
- Driving the family when they are in Dubai, as required.
- Keeping the household vehicle clean and ensuring that it is maintained appropriately.
- Taking initiative in identifying household requirements and addressing routine matters independently.
- Working closely and cooperatively with the existing maid, respecting her experience and
established role within the household. - Maintaining a positive, respectful, and harmonious working relationship with all household staff.
- Supporting the existing maid when required and coordinating duties effectively to ensure
the smooth running of the household. - Maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion regarding the family, residence, and their personal affairs.
- Ensuring the residence remains clean, secure, organised, and well maintained at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Housekeeper, Private Housekeeper, Household Assistant, or similar position.
- Valid UAE driving licence is mandatory.
- Previous professional driving experience is preferred.
- Mature, responsible, trustworthy, and highly organised personality.
- Able to work independently without constant supervision.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership of household duties.
- Proactive and able to identify and address household requirements independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully and harmoniously alongside existing household staff.
- Good communication skills and a cooperative approach.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Flexible and adaptable to the family's requirements.
- Able to manage the household responsibly when the family is away.
- Strong understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and discretion.
- German language skills are an advantage but not essential.
- Open to candidates of all nationalities.
- Candidates already based in the UAE with both housekeeping and driving experience are welcome to apply.
Work conditions
- Position: Full-time, live-in
- Working Days: 6 days per week, 1 day off
- Working Hours: Flexible and based on the family's requirements. When the family is in
Dubai, the candidate will be required to work as needed according to the family's schedule.
When the family is away, the workload will be considerably lighter. - Start Date: ASAP
- Visa sponsorship, medical insurance, and annual flight ticket provided.
Recruitment Process
- Initial Interview: Candidates will first be interviewed by the recruitment team to assess
their experience, qualifications, and suitability for the position. - Final Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be presented to the family for an in-person
interview in Dubai. - The family will be in Dubai from late October to early November, and they would ideally
like to meet the final shortlisted candidates in person during this period. - Candidates should therefore be available for an in-person interview during these dates,
subject to the family's schedule.
