Household Assistant/Companion job (M/F) in Lisbon, Portugal
Job description
This role calls for a versatile, caring and trustworthy household assistant, capable of both maintaining the home to a high standard and providing day-to-day human and logistical support. Great maturity, a strong ability to listen, and a genuine capacity to bring calm and reassurance will be essential qualities for this position.
Responsibilities
- Full housekeeping: maintaining the residence, laundry and ironing
- Preparation of light daily meals
- Grocery shopping and supply management
- Driving Madam to her appointments and errands (driving licence required)
- Liaising with external staff (gardener, pool technician) and contacting service providers
- Accompanying Madam on travel between Portugal and France
- Day-to-day logistical and emotional support — being a reassuring and reliable presence
- Occasional assistance during family gatherings (1 to 2 times per year, 7 to 8 people)
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will be a mature, discreet and deeply compassionate person, equally comfortable with practical tasks and the attentive support of an elderly yet fully mobile individual.
- She will be able to build a relationship of trust, respect Madam's privacy and help restore her confidence in daily life (Madam has been diagnosed with Lyme disease).
- Experience with individuals requiring particular support will be highly valued.
- Fluency in both French and Portuguese is essential, as is a valid driving licence.
- Experience in a UHNW environment is required.
Work conditions
- Accomodation: Option to live in a fully equipped 150 m² apartment within the residence
- Working Hours: Full-time, between 35 and 40 hours per week, ideally 6 days per week, flexible
- Location: Lisbon, Portugal
- Start Date: As soon as the right person is found — fairly quickly
