Job description
A family residing in Épinay-Champlâtreux (95270), comprising two parents and two children (ages 6 and 9), is seeking an experienced and trustworthy Governess to join their household on a long-term basis. An adorable dog is also part of the family.
This role combines impeccable upkeep of the approximately 180 m² residence, laundry management, and caring, attentive childcare. The family speaks French daily and can also communicate in English and Spanish if needed.
The house is set in a green, very pleasant, peaceful environment, away from the hustle of the city. Paris remains easily accessible by train. This position will suit someone who appreciates nature and feels at home in the countryside on a daily basis.
Permanent contract (CDI), full-time Live-in position in an independent cottage. Start date October 2026.
Responsibilities
WITHIN THE PROPERTY
Daily Duties
- Cleaning of the 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, toilets and kitchen
- Dusting of surfaces and floors parquet and marble (careful upkeep of fine materials)
- Cleaning of accessible windows and surfaces
- Complete laundry management: sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding and putting away
- Changing sheets and towels at least once a week
- Maintaining overall order in the house items put back in their place, rooms tidied after use
- Cleaning of the terrace, outdoor furniture and steps
- Managing waste, compost and recycling sorting
- At the end of the day: spotless kitchen and bathrooms, beds made, dishwasher emptied
Regular Duties
- Occasional errands related to household maintenance
- Managing and organising cleaning products flagging items to be restocked
- Overseeing the day-to-day smooth running of the house: changing light bulbs, simple minor repairs, reporting faulty equipment, replacing or restocking missing items
- Dropping off and collecting dry cleaning
Periodic Duties (deep cleaning)
- Interior cleaning of cupboards, refrigerator, oven and household appliances
- Cleaning of skirting boards, doors and high windows
- Thorough upkeep of outdoor spaces
WITH THE CHILDREN
- Daily school runs school located in Chantilly (20 minutes by car)
- Pick-up from school at the end of the day: attentive care of the children from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm snack time, homework supervision if needed, showering if needed, preparing things for the next day and supporting their end-of-day routine
- Ensuring the children's bedrooms and spaces are kept tidy with their participation
- Managing laundry and school belongings cleaning lunch boxes
- Wednesday mornings: picking the children up from school at 12:00 pm
- Wednesday afternoons: accompanying and being present at the children's activities
- Occasional accompaniment to appointments or daytime activities as needed
Preparing family meals is not included in the duties. Preparing a snack or a simple meal for the children may occasionally be requested.
Requirements
- Proven experience in similar roles (verifiable references from families)
- Positive, cheerful, energetic and caring personality
- Mature, autonomous and able to take initiative
- Experienced and reassuring driver, category B licence required (young drivers will not be considered)
- Comfortable with children and naturally enjoys looking after them
- Excellent presentation and attention to detail
- Knowledge of and respect for fine materials (parquet, marble)
- Very good communication with the parents
- Reliable, discreet and loyal: long-term commitment desired
- No requirement to travel with the family
Work conditions

- Contract: Permanent contract (CDI)
Full-time: 40h/week, 9:30 am – 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday (1-hour break included)
Days off: Saturday and Sunday - Start date: October 2026
- Accommodation: A lovely independent single-storey cottage of 40 m², located 100 metres from the family home. Suitable for a single person or a couple, without children. Small pets accepted.
