Job description

A warm and welcoming Iranian family based in Doha is seeking an engaging, energetic, and nurturing Governess to support the educational and language development of their 2.5 year-old son.

The family places strong emphasis on positivity, creativity, and a hands-on approach to early learning. They are looking for someone who can inspire curiosity, confidence, and independence through structured play and interactive teaching.

The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and warmth to each day someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and can create a joyful, stimulating environment that promotes learning through play, music, art, and exploration. A Governess who understands the importance of gentle guidance, emotional support, and consistent routines will thrive in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Focus solely on the child’s education, development, and language skills.
  • Plan and lead fun, stimulating, and educational activities aligned with developmental milestones.
  • Support early learning through play, music, art, and sensory exploration.
  • Encourage language development through daily conversation and structured learning exercises.
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
  • Collaborate closely with the household team, which includes three housekeepers and one nanny.
  • Maintain a cheerful, proactive, and flexible attitude at all times.
  • Accompany the family on travel and holidays when required.

Requirements

  • Native English speaker (Farsi, Arabic, or Russian is a strong advantage).
  • Qualified in childcare, early years education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Montessori principles or similar educational philosophies.
  • Cheerful, fun, and enthusiastic personality.
  • Creative- ideally enjoys music, art and can play an instrument.
  • Professional, discreet, and collaborative.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a positive, “can-do” attitude.

Work conditions

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Schedule: 5 days per week, with 2 days off during the week
  • Daily hours: 8 to 10 hours, with flexibility required
  • Location: Doha, Qatar
  • Start date: ASAP

Salary

18,000–25,000 AED per month (depending on experience)
