Job description
An experienced, professional and service-oriented Domestic Couple is sought for a prestigious private country estate near Newbury in the UK.
Working alongside an established household team, including another Domestic Couple, two Housekeepers, a PA and a team of Gardeners, the successful couple will help maintain the highest standards across the family's residence.
This is a fast-paced but rewarding environment that requires flexibility, excellent teamwork and a proactive approach.
Responsibilities
Butler
- Formal and informal food and beverage service.
- Guest care and hospitality.
- Driving the principals and guests as required.
- Wardrobe management, including packing and unpacking.
- Assisting with travel preparations and occasional overseas travel.
- Liaising with the household team to ensure the smooth running of the estate.
- Maintaining impeccable presentation throughout the property.
Housekeeper
- Housekeeping to an exceptional standard.
- Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care.
- Care of fine furnishings, antiques and delicate surfaces.
- Seasonal deep cleaning and organisation.
- Assisting with simple meal preparation when required.
- Occasional supervision of the family's 13-year-old son.
- Occasional travel to the family's other European residences.
Requirements
The ideal couple will:
- Have previous experience working together in a private household or luxury estate.
- Be flexible, hardworking and proactive.
- Have excellent attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Be discreet, trustworthy and easy to work with.
- Enjoy working as part of a larger household team.
- Hold full driving licences (both candidates ideally able to drive).
- Be eligible to work in the UK and travel internationally.
Work conditions
- Beautiful live-in accommodation provided within a separate estate building, comprising one bedroom, a private kitchen/dining room, living room and utility room, with separate access and parking.
- Shared garden with one other live-in employee.
- Five-day working week on a rota basis, including weekends.
