Job description
A prestigious private family is seeking an experienced and dedicated Domestic Couple to join their established household team at a beautiful country estate near Newbury.
This is an exceptional long-term opportunity for a professional couple who enjoy working within a well-organised private household and take pride in delivering an outstanding level of service.
The successful candidates will work alongside an experienced team, including another Domestic Couple, Housekeepers, a Personal Assistant and Gardeners, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the estate.
Responsibilities
- Providing both formal and informal food and beverage service
- Greeting and looking after guests to the highest standard
- Chauffeuring the principals and guests as required
- Packing and unpacking luggage and assisting with wardrobe management
- Preparing for family travel and accompanying the principals on occasional overseas trips
- Supporting the wider household team with the day-to-day operation of the estate
- Ensuring all guest and reception areas are maintained to an immaculate standard
- Maintaining the residence to an exceptional standard of cleanliness and presentation
- Laundry, ironing and careful wardrobe management
- Caring for fine furnishings, antiques and delicate materials
- Seasonal deep cleaning and household organisation
- Assisting with light meal preparation when required
- Providing occasional supervision of the family's teenage son (13 years old)
- Travelling occasionally to the family's European residences when required
Requirements
- Previous experience working together within a private household, country estate or luxury residence
- A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach
- Excellent attention to detail
- A professional, discreet and trustworthy manner
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a larger household team
- Full driving licences (ideally both candidates)
- The legal right to work in the UK
- Willingness to travel internationally when required
