Domestic Couple job in Marbella, Spain
Job description
A private principal who has recently relocated to Marbella is seeking an experienced, trustworthy, and proactive Domestic Couple to join his household on a long-term basis.
The position is based at a newly completed luxury villa of over 20,000 sq ft near Marbella, Spain.
The property is the principal's primary residence and is maintained to an exceptionally high
standard.
The successful couple will be responsible for the day-to-day management, presentation, and smooth operation of the property, while working alongside existing and future household staff.
This is a hands-on role combining estate management, housekeeping, household administration, and principal support.
Responsibilities
Property & Household Management
- Oversee the smooth daily operation of the residence.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and supervising additional housekeeping staff.
- Create staff schedules and monitor performance standards.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, gardeners, maintenance providers, and service companies.
- Ensure the property is maintained to impeccable standards at all times.
- Monitor inventories, household supplies, and purchasing requirements.
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and preventative upkeep.
- Assist with payroll administration by providing staff working hours and information to accountants.
Housekeeping & Laundry
- Perform hands-on housekeeping alongside the housekeeping team
- Ensure all rooms, guest areas, terraces, and common spaces are presented to a luxurynstandard
- Laundry, ironing, wardrobe care, and wardrobe management
- Bed making and room preparation
- Care and maintenance of marble surfaces, glass, fine finishes, and luxury furnishings
- Assist with seasonal wardrobe changes and packing/unpacking
Principal Support
- Run errands and household shopping
- Assist with receiving deliveries and service providers
- Airport transfers and occasional driving duties
- Assist with travel preparation, packing, and unpacking
- Support the principal with day-to-day household requirements
Hospitality & Guest Care
- Prepare guest suites before arrivals
- Welcome guests and assist during visits
- Coordinate hospitality arrangements when required
- Support external catering teams during events and gatherings
Cooking
- Prepare simple family-style meals when required
- Assist with meal preparation during busy periods
- Support occasional informal entertaining
Pet Care
- Assist with the care of the principal's dogs when required
- Provide support during the principal's travel periods
Travel
- Occasional travel within Europe, the United Kingdom, or the United States may be required
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Domestic Couple, Estate Management. Couple, House Manager, Property Manager, or within a large private household.
- Experience supervising household staff.
- Strong housekeeping skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and management abilities.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Hands-on and willing to lead by example.
- Physically fit and capable of working within a large property.
- Professional, discreet, trustworthy, and loyal.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Fluent English essential.
- Conversational Spanish highly desirable.
- Both candidates must be confident drivers with clean driving records.
- Comfortable driving luxury and high-value vehicles.
- EU passport or legal right to work in Spain preferred.
Work conditions
Working Schedule
The position is generally five days per week, Monday to Friday.
Working hours will vary depending on the season and occupancy of the property.
During the summer months, a split-shift schedule may apply due to the climate, with working hours in the morning and later afternoon/evening. During the remainder of the year, a more traditional daytime schedule is expected.
Flexibility is appreciated when the principal is entertaining guests or travelling.
Accommodation: Separate 4-bedroom villa provided, approximately 10–15 minutes from the main residence. All utilities included. Company vehicles provided.
