Job description
A private UHNW couple of North American origin is seeking an experienced and discreet Live-In Domestic Couple for their prestigious estate on the Cap d'Antibes, French Riviera. The property features extensive living spaces, outdoor entertaining areas, sports and wellness facilities, a guest house and several outbuildings.
The owners require very little day-to-day service and value a couple capable of being present and available while remaining almost invisible when not needed.
The owners lead a simple, private lifestyle and value discretion above all else. They are looking for a calm, reliable and proactive couple who can anticipate their needs without being intrusive.
This is a newly created position, the property is currently under construction, offering the selected couple the unique opportunity to set up the household from day one. Workload adapts to the owners' presence: quieter periods when the property is unoccupied, full availability and flexibility required when the owners, guests or tenants are on site.
Live-in: an independent, brand-new and fully equipped accommodation is provided. Best suited to a couple without children or pets. Permanent contract (CDI) Ideal start date: around January 2027.
Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning and upkeep of the main residence and all living spaces to the highest standards
- Full laundry management: washing, ironing, folding and wardrobe organisation
- Preparation of the property before the owners’ arrival and after their departure
- Stock management: groceries, household products and consumables
- Preparation of breakfasts and simple meals (lunch or dinner) as required
- Reporting of any anomalies, maintenance needs or issues to the property manager
- Able to identify issues before they become problems.
- Daily maintenance of outdoor areas: terraces, pathways and exterior spaces
- Upkeep of outdoor furniture and equipment
- Preparation and maintenance of the tennis court
- Vehicle cleaning and care
- Coordination of external contractors and service providers on the property
- General property surveillance and security awareness
- Occasional errands and grocery runs as needed
- Assistance with service during the owners’ entertaining or guest stays
- Occasional transfers (e.g. airport drop-offs) — infrequent, owners generally use a private driver
- Able to identify issues before they become problems.
- Ensuring the same standard of service during guest stays and occasional rental periods
- Preparation and readiness of the property for all arrivals
- Day-to-day assistance for guests: housekeeping, errands, general support
- Coordination with additional staff (chefs, waiters, cleaners) during larger events if required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a guardian couple or in private household management in a high-end environment
- Impeccable discretion — an absolute and non-negotiable requirement
- Calm, trustworthy, reliable and autonomous
- Flexible and adaptable to the owners’ schedule and lifestyle
- Fluent in English — French fluency is a plus; an international couple is preferred
- Proactive, attentive and capable of anticipating needs without being intrusive
- Strong verifiable professional references required
- Driving licence mandatory
Work conditions
- Location: Cap d'Antibes, French Riviera
- Contract Type: Full-time, long-term contract (CDI), with a 1-month trial period, renewable once
- Working Hours: Flexible, adapted to the owners' presence and schedule
- Days Off: To be defined with the owners — may be staggered between the two partners to ensure continuity of presence
- Annual Leave: 5 weeks per year (per French law), to be taken during periods when the property is unoccupied
- Start Date: Around January 2027
- Accommodation: Independent, comfortable, fully equipped living accommodation provided
