Domestic Couple job in Fontainebleau, France
Job description
A family based in Fontainebleau is seeking a trusted domestic couple to join a property that already has a Live-In Housekeeper.
This is a long-term position, within a demanding family environment that requires great discretion, an excellent sense of service, and a genuine ability to work harmoniously with existing staff.
Responsibilities
- Management of the house in coordination with the housekeeper already in post, in a spirit of complementarity rather than overlap of duties
- Preparation of everyday meals and table service
- Occasional support at Madame's daughter's home, as needed
- Administrative support: correspondence, coordination and welcoming of outside contractors/service providers
- Management of household shopping and stock/supplies
- Sense of service, discretion, diplomacy and strong ability to adapt to the family's habits and to other members of staff
- Minor repairs and general upkeep of the house (DIY, basic plumbing, basic electrics)
- Maintenance and upkeep of the family's vehicles
- Basic garden upkeep (mowing, watering, tidiness of outdoor areas)
- Availability to respond quickly to ad hoc needs
- Practical mindset, autonomy and reliability
- Driving for Madame
Requirements
- Proven experience as a domestic couple, ideally within a high-end private environment
- For Role 1: a hybrid profile combining domestic excellence with administrative support; genuine sense of teamwork and diplomacy with existing staff
- For Role 2: practical mindset, autonomy and reliability, driving licence
- Reliability, discretion and sense of service required for both profiles
- Verifiable professional references
Work conditions
- Live-in position for a couple, long-term
- Accommodation provided: fully equipped annex studio on the property
- A housekeeper is already in post on the property — Role 1 will work in coordination and complementarity with her
- Schedule to be defined according to the family's organisation, full-time
- Location: Fontainebleau, France
- Desired Start Date: As soon as possible
