Job description

On behalf of an UHNW family based in New York City, we are seeking an experienced, discreet, and highly professional Family Chauffeur. This role is primarily driver-focused, with limited butler-style support as needed.

The role involves providing daily transportation for the principals and family members, primarily within New York City, with occasional travel in tri-state area.

This position requires high availability, an impeccable presentation, excellent city driving expertise, and the ability to manage last-minute changes and shifting schedules with composure. Absolute confidentiality, reliability, professionalism, and an outstanding sense of service are essential.

Responsibilities

Driving Responsibilities

  • Drive the principals and family members daily for both personal and professional needs.
  • Ensure safe, smooth, punctual, and comfortable transportation always.
  • Assist with luggage handling and transport.
  • Work closely with the Family Office to coordinate schedules and punctuality.
  • Demonstrate flexibility for evening and weekend driving.

 

Service and Professional Conduct

  • Always maintain an impeccable personal presentation.
  • Demonstrate a discreet, respectful, friendly, and professional demeanor.
  • Uphold absolute confidentiality, including outside of working hours.

 

Vehicle Management

  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in pristine condition (interior/exterior cleanliness, servicing, inspections, repairs).
  • Ensure vehicles are consistently fueled and ready for use.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and coordinate with dealerships and service providers.
  • Track vehicle documents to ensure they’re active and updated timely.
  • Plan routes, anticipate traffic conditions, and adjust itineraries as needed.
  • Conduct daily safety checks (tires, lights, fluids, cleanliness)
  • Check and replenish onboard inventory (water, tissues, chargers, etc).

 

Limited Butler Style Support

  • Carry out occasional errands or services for the family as required.
  • Handle occasional administrative or logistical tasks related to the residence.
  • Assist with hosting duties during guest visits or events
  • Serve beverages and light refreshments with proper etiquette
  • Support event setup and breakdown (e.g., table settings, basic service flow)
  • Maintain a polished presence and attentive, unobtrusive service style
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond calmly and professionally

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a private or executive driver for HNW/UHNW clients.
  • Demonstrated experience driving children and principals safely.
  • Excellent knowledge of New York, including major routes, train stations, and airports.
  • Availability during daytime, evenings, and weekends.
  • Impeccable presentation, strong service mindset, refined manners, and good taste.
  • High level of discretion, trustworthiness, and reliability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage pressure, adapt quickly, and anticipate needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and proactivity.
  • Verifiable professional references required.

Work conditions

  • Position: Chauffeur
  • Location: New York City, with occasional travel tri-state
  • Schedule: Permanent position, full time schedule 5 to 6 days a week, flexibility required (evenings, weekends, events).
  • Compensation & Benefits: depends on experience.

Salary

$40-$50/hour, depends on experience, plus health insurance
