Job description

A private client in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a highly refined, polished, and proactive Butler / House Assistant to provide seamless, high-touch support across both personal administrative needs and refined household operations.

The ideal candidate brings a European 5-star hotel service mentality—combining extreme discretion, impeccable presentation, intuitive foresight, and an unwavering commitment to white-glove standards.

This hybrid role requires someone equally adept at complex calendar coordination and travel logistics as they are at luxury wardrobe care, formal service, and light culinary preparation.

Responsibilities

Personal Assistance & Administrative Support

  • Calendar Management: Oversee and coordinate complex personal and business appointments, meetings, domestic/international commitments, and family schedules.
  • Travel Logistics: Manage end-to-end travel arrangements, including private/commercial flights, luxury accommodations, ground transport, itineraries, and visa requirements.
  • Vendor & Service Relations: Act as the primary gatekeeper and liaison for external vendors, contractors, service providers, and household staff.
  • Errands & Special Projects: Execute personal errands, gift sourcing, event coordination, and administrative tasks as needed.

Butler & Household Operations:

  • Wardrobe Management: Maintain fine garments, luxury apparel, and footwear; oversee dry cleaning, repairs, seasonal rotation, and high-level valet duties.
  • Packing & Unpacking: Master luggage preparation and unpacking for frequent travel, ensuring garments arrive immaculate and ready to wear.
  • Formal Table & Food Service: Provide seamless food and beverage service with an understanding of proper protocol, fine dining, and entertaining standards.
  • Light Meal Preparation: Prepare light, healthy meals, snacks, breakfast, or hot beverages when private chefs are off-duty or upon request.
  • Laundering & Care: Oversee specialized care for delicate fabrics, fine linens, and luxury home textiles.
  • Property Oversight: Ensure the residence remains immaculate, orderly, and fully stocked with personal provisions and household inventory.

Requirements

  • Service Background: Proven track record in luxury hospitality (European 5-star hotel background strongly preferred) or private high-net-worth estate service.
  • Presentation & Demeanor: Impeccably groomed, highly articulate, discreet, and comfortable interacting in formal, high-profile environments.
  • Tech-Savvy: Highly proficient in digital scheduling, travel apps, communication platforms, and personal administrative tools.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher is a strong plus.
  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; authorization to work in the U.S.; complete background and reference check.

Work conditions

  • Start Date: Flexible
  • Location: San Francisco, Bay Area
  • Schedule: Full-time schedule, must be flexible with long days as needed

Salary

Target Salary up to $150,000 / year (commensurate with experience) PTO/Health/401k
