Job description
We are looking for a Housekeeper/House Manager to oversee the general upkeep and household management of a privately owned luxury chalet in Megève, Haute-Savoie.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-end hospitality. The position is available immediately on a full-time, permanent basis. No staff accommodation is provided.
Responsibilities
- Carry out full housekeeping duties, including cleaning, dusting, polishing, and waxing.
- Manage all laundry care: washing, ironing, folding, and wardrobe organisation.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning products and household supplies.
- Ensure the chalet is always presented to a high standard, with all areas well maintained.
- Check that all equipment is in proper working order and respond promptly to any technical issues.
- Welcome and coordinate external service providers and contractors.
- Receive deliveries and manage parcels efficiently.
- Handle errands such as dry cleaning, pharmacy runs, and other household-related tasks.
- Attend to guests’ needs and ensure a high-quality, seamless stay experience.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the employer.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in luxury hospitality or high-end chalet management.
- Versatile, self-motivated, and highly organised.
- Strong sense of service with a genuine five-star hospitality mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proactive attitude with the ability to anticipate needs.
- Experienced in caring for fine materials such as marble and brass.
- High level of discretion and respect for confidentiality.
- Flexible and adaptable, particularly during periods when the employer is in residence.
- Fluency in French and English is a plus.
- Valid driving licence required.
