Job description
A warm and well-established family based in Malaysia are seeking two dedicated, qualified Private Teachers to join their household and travel with them internationally.
The family has two young girls aged 4 and 5, who are currently in kindergarten in Malaysia. A French au pair has been providing informal teaching sessions until now, and she leaves in November 2026. The family is ready to build something more structured and long-term.
This is a genuinely unique position. The family travels extensively primarily across four locations throughout the year as well as multiple holidays to various places, and the teachers will travel with them to every destination.
Learning resources are available and maintained at each property. The goal is to give both girls a strong, consistent education that keeps them on track with the British/ international curriculum while making the most of the extraordinary environments they grow up in.
French and Mandarin Chinese are both central to the family's vision for the girls. Fluency in both languages is a long-term goal, and the right candidates will have the language skills and the teaching ability to make that happen for at least one or both languages.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a structured, full-time home education programme following the British/international curriculum
- Plan and adapt lessons to suit each child's age, pace, and learning style
- Track progress against standard educational milestones with a view to a normal academic trajectory, including future GCSE-level study
- Maintain consistent learning routines across all locations, including Vanuatu
- Keep resources organised and available at each property
- Teach French to reading and writing level - a key family priority
- Teach Mandarin Chinese to spoken, reading, and written level - critical to the family's long-term goals
- Reinforce English as the primary language of academic instruction
- Incorporate music, dance, swimming, and sport into the weekly programme
- Plan out-and-about learning -Â excursions, nature, local culture, and hands-on experiences
- Deliver a varied programme that goes well beyond classroom-based learning
- Qualified primary or early years teacher - PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent
- Native or near-native Mandarin Chinese speaker with the ability to teach young children
- Experience in early years or primary language immersion
- Comfortable co-teaching and sharing responsibility for both children
- Experienced in lesson planning and delivery.
- A genuine enthusiasm for arts, music, dance, sport, or outdoor learning is a bonus.
- Qualified primary or early years teacher -Â PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent
- Native or near-native French speaker with the ability to teach young children
- Confident delivering the British/ Â international curriculum framework
- Experience in early years or primary language immersion
- Comfortable co-teaching and sharing responsibility for both children
- Experienced in lesson planning and delivery.
Requirements
- Formal teaching qualification - Â PGCE, QTS, Montessori, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience teaching young children, ideally aged 3 to 7.
- Experience in private household, home education, or international family placements preferred.
- Patience, creativity, and the ability to adapt quickly across very different environments.
- Sensitivity to individual learning needs and a willingness to adjust approach as each child develops.
- Well presented, discreet, and professional at all times.
- Warm and nurturing, with clear boundaries and a calm manner.
- Comfortable with remote locations and extended travel away from home.
- Driving licence is a bonus.
- Non-smoker, no pets.
- Knowing additional la languages, sports, musical instruments is a bonus.
Work conditions
- Position: 2 Full- Time Private Teachers
- Working Days: 5 days per week
- Days Off: 2 days per week
- Start Date: ASAP
- Accomodation: Provided at all locations
- Flights: Provided, including return flights home
