Job description
A warm, easygoing English family in Laurel Canyon is seeking a highly organized, energetic, and kind Part-Time Nanny. The family values proper manners, clear expectations, and a balanced approach to discipline—someone firm but fair.
The children are 7 (daughter) and 9 (son), both active and involved in various sports and after-school activities. The role focuses on structure, encouragement, manners, and supporting their daily routines with consistency and warmth.
Responsibilities
Morning Routine (typically 7–8 AM)
- Arrive daily to manage the morning flow
- Prepare and pack healthy lunches for the children
- Provide gentle but firm reminders about hygiene (brushing teeth, brushing hair, dressing appropriately)
- Ensure homework, books, and school bags are organized and ready
- Walk the children to school
Afternoon / Early Evening
- Oversee and coordinate all after-school sports and activities
- Ensure the children follow a structured routine, including:
30 minutes of homework
30 minutes of reading
- Maintain expectations regarding manners, respectful communication, and daily responsibilities
- Prepare simple, nutritious evening meals for the children
- Keep track of weekly schedules, gear, and school requirements
Requirements
- Someone kind, fun, and high-energy, yet equally firm, consistent, and structured.
- A nanny who values manners, routine, respect, follow-through, and accountability.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to stay one step ahead and calmly manage multiple moving parts.
- A reliable driver with a valid license.
Work conditions
- Location: Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles
- Schedule: 25–30 hours per week
