Job description
We are seeking an experienced and engaging Live-Out Nanny for a UHNW family in New York City, supporting two children, ages 8 and 10.
This is a highly attractive, well-compensated role for a candidate who brings strong presence, emotional intelligence, and the ability to naturally connect with children in their pre-teen years.
The position focuses on creating structure, maintaining routines, and being a consistent, grounded figure in the children’s daily lives. The ideal candidate is someone who is confident, interesting, and able to build trust and rapport, while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.
This is a fully staffed household, and the role requires someone who can integrate seamlessly into a high-level environment while working independently.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily routines and provide consistent structure.
- Support homework and general academic accountability.
- Engage the children in meaningful, age-appropriate activities and conversations.
- Manage after-school schedules and accompany children to activities (walking distance).
- Maintain organization related to the children (school items, schedules, routines).
- Coordinate with household staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children when needed.
- Maintain light organization related to the children’s areas.
During periods when the mother is traveling:
- Assume full responsibility for the children.
- Stay in the residence for 7–10 consecutive days.
- Manage all routines, including meals, schedules, and overall care.
International travel required during school breaks, including:
- Summer.
- Spring break.
- Additional holiday periods.
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Nanny within private households.
- Recent experience with early teens or school-aged children is essential.
- Naturally engaging, confident, and able to build strong relationships with children.
- Strong presence with the ability to maintain structure and boundaries.
- Emotionally intelligent, grounded, and discreet.
- Organized and proactive, with good judgment.
- Comfortable working independently within a fully staffed household.
- Fully flexible for international travel.
