English Tutor/Teacher Position job (M/F) in L’Aiguillon-sur-Vie, France
Job description
A warm and welcoming family living in a charming village in the Vendée region is seeking a passionate English Tutor/ Teacher Position to create a joyful and engaging learning environment each evening for their three young children, aged 1, 3, and 4.
The role focuses on building a playful and immersive English-speaking environment through games, storytelling, songs, and shared moments of connection.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about education, early childhood development, and English language communication.
The main objective is to encourage natural English interaction in a fun, creative, and nurturing atmosphere.
Both parents will be present during these end-of-day moments, making this a true family-oriented role, where the tutor will actively take part in the children’s daily life.
The household also includes a dog and a cat.
Responsibilities
A unique and rewarding role
Each evening is dedicated to learning and interaction in English through engaging and age-appropriate activities:
- Pick up the children from school and daycare.
- Accompany the children to their activities.
- Encourage natural English immersion through everyday communication.
Learning through play and creativity
- Read stories and books in English.
- Organize educational games and puppet play.
- Introduce songs, nursery rhymes, and music.
- Lead creative activities such as painting, drawing, and pottery.
- Encourage imaginative play and simple theatre activities.
- Provide sensory activities adapted to the children’s age.
Daily routines shared with the parents
- Snack time and quiet time.
- Educational games and activities.
- Bath time.
- Dinner preparation.
- Bedtime routine (pajamas and settling down).
The tutor will also ensure that the children’s living spaces remain tidy and organized, while maintaining a safe, supportive, and positive environment for their well-being and development.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children in a private household or similar setting.
- Native English speaker preferred, with good knowledge of French (or native French speaker fully fluent in English).
- Kind, patient, and creative personality.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to structure the end of the day.
- Excellent communication skills with both children and parents.
- Discreet, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Well-presented and professional.
- A personal vehicle is a plus, but not essential.
Work conditions
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM (20 hours per week)
- Location: L’Aiguillon-sur-Vie, France
- Contract: Fixed-term contract with strong potential for permanent employment
