Family Cook and Housekeeper job (M/F) in Paris, France
Job description
A family living in a private townhouse of approximately 1,000 sqm, located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, is seeking an experienced Family Cook & Housekeeper to ensure the smooth day-to-day running, organization, and impeccable upkeep of their main residence. Strong skills in family-style cooking are essential for this role.
The successful candidate must enjoy cooking on a daily basis and be able to prepare varied, healthy, and balanced meals for the family, in line with their habits and dietary preferences.
Beyond the duties described below, this role is intended for a hands-on, operational candidate, capable of working in close collaboration with the existing housekeeper, while demonstrating a strong service mindset, autonomy, and high standards to ensure the smooth running of the household.
Permanent contract (CDI) – Full-time Flexible start date between May and September 2026, as the family wishes to take the time to find the right person. A cat is part of the household.
Responsibilities
Family Cooking – Key Component of the Role
- Prepare weekday dinners (Monday to Friday) for the family
- Prepare Wednesday lunch for the children
- Make homemade snacks (cookies, granola, fresh juices, healthy treats)
- Suggest new recipes and menu ideas regularly
- Manage grocery shopping and kitchen supplies
- Ensure meals are healthy, balanced, and adapted to the family’s preferences
- Work independently with creativity and strong organization
Housekeeping & Laundry Management
- Ensure overall organization and impeccable upkeep of the home
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, tidiness, and harmony
- Work closely with the existing housekeeper
- Participate in daily cleaning tasks:
- Living areas
- Bathrooms
- Dusting
- Vacuuming
- Surface cleaning
- Occasional window cleaning
- Ensure all areas remain in pristine condition throughout the day
- Manage household linen and family clothing
- Organize wardrobes (storage, seasonal rotation, garment care)
- Handle dry cleaning drop-offs and collections
Household Supplies Management
- Monitor and replenish household supplies, including:
- Cleaning products
- Food and daily essentials
- Household linen (if required)
- Bathroom and comfort items
Daily Household Preparation
- Ensure the home is always ready to welcome the family in optimal conditions
- Prepare the house before the family returns:
- Tidy home
- Ready kitchen
- Pleasant atmosphere
- Maintain a harmonious and well-organized environment throughout the day
General Maintenance & Anticipation
- Monitor the overall condition of the residence
- Report any issues promptly
- Anticipate minor maintenance needs and repairs
- Ensure proper use and care of household equipment and materials
Occasional Coordination with Service Providers
- Welcome tradespeople or service providers when required
- Facilitate access and ensure smooth interventions
- Report relevant updates to the family or Personal Assistant
- Note: This role remains strictly operational (no administrative duties or contractor management)
Requirements
Family Cooking – Essential Skill
- Strong, proven experience in daily family-style cooking
- Ability to prepare healthy, balanced meals independently
- Genuine enjoyment of cooking on a daily basis
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in similar roles within private households
- Strong, checkable references
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- High level of autonomy and ability to multitask efficiently
- Background in luxury hospitality is a plus
- Strong command of healthy, balanced family cooking
- Good level of French

Work conditions
- Start date: between May and September 2026
- Location: Paris 11th arrondissement
- Contract: Permanent (CDI), 44 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Benefits: 50% contribution to public transport (Navigo pass)
