Full-Time Domestic Couple job in Gueret, France
Job description
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Domestic Couple to join the existing household team within a secondary residence located near Guéret, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine (23).
The ideal couple will be organised, discreet, and able to manage the interior upkeep and smooth running of the property in close collaboration with the Estate Manager already in place.
The successful couple will have prior experience working in private residences and will ensure the day-to-day functioning of the home, maintaining a welcoming and family-oriented environment.
Responsibilities include housekeeping, formal table service, silver care, and full management of both household linen and personal wardrobe items.
This is a long-term, stable position for a trustworthy, proactive, and discreet couple with a genuine sense of service. The role is live-in, based in Guéret (between Limoges and Montluçon), and will begin in May 2026. This is a full-time permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventories, supplies, and household stock levels.
- Execute formal and occasional table setting and service during family receptions.
- Care for household and personal linen, including washing, ironing, and wardrobe organisation.
- Prepare luggage for the principals ahead of their travels.
- Drive the principals when required.
- Oversee household systems, equipment, and home automation, and report any issues.
- Communicate via iPhone (photos, emails) and provide regular reporting and expense follow-up.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ proven experience as a Domestic Couple or in a similar role within private households or family estates.
- Professional, courteous individuals with strong organisational skills and adaptability.
- Proactive, discreet, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Able to operate in a refined environment with high standards for punctuality, confidentiality, and discretion.
- Strong observational skills, excellent manners, and a service-oriented mindset.
- Team players, flexible, dependable, and able to collaborate smoothly with existing staff.
- Warm, discreet, and service-focused attitude, capable of working autonomously.
- Madam: Full housekeeping + expert linen care.
- Sir: Housekeeping support + formal table service.
- Comfortable living in a quiet countryside setting.
- Seeking long-term, stable employment.
- Flexible and available when principals are in residence.
- Fluent in French; basic English is an advantage.
- Driving licence required for at least one of the two candidates (ideally both).
