Job description
For our client’s secondary residence located near Évreux (Eure, France), we are seeking an experienced Domestic Couple to oversee both the interior and exterior maintenance of the property.
This is a full-time, permanent position, available as soon as possible. A separate staff accommodation is provided on-site.
Responsibilities
- General upkeep of the main residence and outbuildings.
- Laundry management (washing, ironing, wardrobe organisation).
- Preparation of balanced meals when the owners are in residence.
- Table setup and service in an informal setting (upon request).
- Grocery shopping and management of household supplies.
- Monitoring and replenishment of cleaning products.
- Maintenance of outdoor areas: mowing, pruning, weeding, watering, raking, leaf blowing.
- Care of the swimming pool, pool house, and outdoor furniture (sunbeds, tables, umbrellas, etc.).
- Basic maintenance of household equipment (oil boiler, fireplace, etc.).
- Waste management and recycling.
- Carrying out small repairs and general handyman tasks.
- Welcoming contractors and supervising maintenance work.
- Property supervision and security.
- Managing household-related expenses with regular reporting.
- Occasional driving duties for the family and guests (train station transfers, local trips).
- Vehicle maintenance (cleaning, refueling).
- Care of the owner’s dog.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a private household or estate.
- Versatile, autonomous, and highly responsible individuals.
- Good interpersonal skills, flexible and adaptable when the owners are in residence.
- Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
- Comfortable working in a rural environment.
- Experience with pets.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- French speaking.
Work conditions
- Job Title: Domestic Couple
- Location: Near Évreux, France (27)
- Contract: Permanent (CDI), 35 hours per week
- Accommodation: Independent accommodation (approx. 70 m²) + service vehicle
- Trial Period: 1 month, renewable
Salary
From €5,200 gross per month (for the couple), depending on experience
