Job description
A private household based in Zurich is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook/Housekeeper to support the daily running of the home. The family is open to both live-in or live-out arrangements.
A warm, professional, and trustworthy cook/housekeeper who enjoys preparing wholesome family meals, maintaining a well-organised home, and is looking for a stable, long-term position with a respectful private household in Switzerland.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily family-style meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for the principals
- Cook simple, healthy, home-style cuisine (European-style cooking preferred)
- Follow dietary preferences and adjust meals as required
- Grocery shopping and basic stock management
- Maintain a clean, organised kitchen
- General housekeeping duties, including:
- Cleaning and tidying
- Laundry and ironing
- Making beds & changing linen
- Table setting and light household organisation
- Work independently while maintaining high standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a cook/housekeeper in private households.
- Confident preparing home-style meals (not chef-level cuisine).
- Longevity in previous positions with excellent references.
- Organised, reliable, and discreet.
- Flexible and service-oriented attitude.
- Able to work independently and manage daily routines.
- Good level of English (Italian or German an advantage, but not essential).
