Job description
A distinguished high-net-worth (HNW) family is seeking 2 experienced Butlers to deliver exemplary front-of-house service at their private estate in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq.
These roles support the Head Butler in daily operations, guest hosting, and events, ensuring seamless service and a refined, five-star experience.
The estate features a main residence and a guesthouse capable of hosting up to 100 guests for official gatherings, business receptions, and private family occasions.
The Butlers will work closely with the Head Butler, Head Housekeeper, Executive Chef, and Security Supervisor to maintain smooth operations and high service standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal and table service for meals and beverages, including formal service when required.
- Prepare table settings, buffet layouts, and bar setups according to established standards.
- Assist with guest arrival/departure, including doors, luggage coordination with drivers, and refreshments.
- Support wardrobe/packing tasks for the family for travel when requested, working with the designated laundry/wardrobe housekeeper.
- Cross-train to cover basic housekeeping checks in guest-facing areas, and support events or staff absences.
- Raise any maintenance issues with the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Assist with weekly, six-monthly, and yearly audit checks on all front-of-house assets in coordination with the Head Butler.
Additional notes
- Â Service coverage will include a minimum of two adults during standard periods, increasing to approximately four adults and two children on weekends, plus visiting family and overnight guests.
- During the initial six-month period, the villa is expected to host a higher volume of events and gatherings, requiring active support from the Butler team and Head Butler.
Requirements
- Previous butler/service experience in luxury environments or yachts; strong grooming, communication, and flexibility with hours and duties.
- Good knowledge of beverages and mixology is beneficial but not essential.
- Exceptional attention to detail and extremely discreet.
- Experienced in service of large private events of up to 100 guests.
Work conditions
- Position: Butler
- Location: Private Estate, Sulaymaniyah, Iraq
- Reporting to: Head Butler
- Working hours: Typically 8–10 hours per day with a high degree of flexibility when family or guests are in residence. Additional hours will be compensated with time off in lieu.
- Schedule: 6 days per week, 1 day off
- Accommodation: Dedicated staff annex under development for Heads of Department; interim rented accommodation nearby until completion.
- Annual performance bonuses: To be structured as performance-related and measured against KPIs, yet to be established
