Rachel Dixon, one of our recruiters tells us about how families want other staff like butlers and maybe housekeepers to do light cooking sometimes. But a family cook is someone who will cook meals from scratch, and have a lot of experience doing it.

A private chef might have restaurant experience or be used to cooking for guests, or knows how to present food in a certain way.

A family cook can do all of the above too, but they really excel at just cooking good meals that the family wants to eat.
