From simply supervising children, to designing and implementing education programmes, providing personalised and specialised lesson plans, and evaluating the child's progress...a governess' role can be broad, challenging and hugely rewarding.
A governess is generally expected to manage the child's, or children’s, schooling, education and overall mental development.

What responsibilities does a Governess have ?
- Overseeing one or multiple children's education
- Observing and encouraging healthy social development and interactions
- Teaching good manners and behaviour
- Organising varied activities during the child's, or children's, leisure time
- Teaching one or many foreign language(s)
- Preparing and supervising homework, exercises and exams
What skills does a Governess require ?
- Authority and discipline
- Patience and understanding
- Creativity, the ability to design fun and educational activities
- Capacity to educate, encourage and support
- Good communication skills, willingness to cooperate with parents
- Understanding and respect for family protocols, habits and way of life
What type of accommodation should be expected for a Governess?
Accommodation is generally offered within their place of work, or close to the family home.

All our governess are required to:
- Hold clean criminal records in both their country of employment and country of origin
- Present all certificates and qualifications from training centres and/or schools they attended
- Successfully pass two interview stages
- Provide at least three positive references from previous employers
- Complete professional dossiers containing: CV, cover letter, proof of identity (photocopy or scan), proof of address, proof of the right to work in the country of employment (if applicable), driving license and pay slips from previous professional placements.
- Candidates should be aware that other documentation may also be required.
