Full Time House Manager Job Offer and Vacancy in NYC, US
Our UHNW client is looking for a highly experienced House Manager to organise and coordinate the smooth day-to-day running of their house in Manhattan, New York City.
The ideal House Manager for this role is a flexible, autonomous, skilled and smart multi-tasker and communicate. She/he will manage the busy household’s and children’s schedule and liaise with all staff, family members, contractors, vendors, suppliers and authorities if and when necessary.
We are looking for a highly discreet, reliable and trustworthy candidate who is flexible according to the family’s needs.
He/she also will ensure the smooth coordination with staff members in other domestic and international properties. Domestic and international travel might be required according to the Principal’s needs. This position is ideal for a candidate willing to commit long-term in a permanent and challenging position and to evolve within a dedicated team.
Start: As soon as possible. It is a live-out position so the right candidate has to be based within a reasonable commutable distance.

Vacancy duties and responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth running of the New York household at anytime
- Act as first point of contact for family members, staff, contractors, suppliers, vendors and authorities
- Manage day-to-day maintenance and running of the household. Schedule and oversee repairs when needed
- Organise, train and supervise staff
- Personal shopping, running errands, grocery shopping
- Deal with incoming correspondence and phone calls
- Liaise and coordinate with staff of other domestic and international properties
- Liaise with vendor concerning household maintenance
- Oversee the children’s daily schedule and up-date the parents about important events, appointments and deadlines concerning the household and the children
- Regular reporting
- Ensure that all devices and appliances operate properly
- Maintenance of all systems, address any issues
- Stock Management
- Project Management
- Event-planning: semi-formal dinner parties and informal get-togethers, liaise with catering, prepare snacks, occasional light cooking when required
- Organise childcare / babysitters and security guards when needed or required
- Plan and organise special events such as birthdays and anniversaries
- On occasions, domestic and international traveling for professional matters
Profile requirement
- M/F
- Local candidate (live-out position)
- Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar position in a busy and International private household
- Excellent references from former employers
- Highly discreet, loyal, reliable and trustworthy candidate
- Highly organised and capable of thinking ahead
- Proactive multi-talker and solution-finder
- Able to take initiatives and transform decisions into actions
- Efficient and capable to adapt to the family’s way of thinking and functioning
- Excellent presentation and manners
- Excellent and proven capacity to multi-task
- Excellent and smooth communication with staff and family members
- Hard working and hands-on personality with strong work ethics and a strong sense of service
- Highly flexible and willing to travel
- High motivation and will to evolve
- Humble, kind, energetic, positive and warm personality
- English native speaker, French or another language a plus
- Valid clean driving license
Job Condition
- Schedule: Permanent, full-time and live-out position
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Probation period: 90 days
House Manager Salary
- $ 120 000 - $ 160 000 gross annual (depending on experience and profile).
- Health care stipend after passing probation
