Depending on the property and employer specifications, a housekeeper may be required to carry out additional household duties, such as basic food preparation.

What responsibilities does a Housekeeper have ?
A full time housekeeper is generally responsible for all cleaning and laundry tasks. Depending on the size of the property and employer requirements, housekeepers may have one or more assistants to help with daily tasks.
A housekeeper's main responsibilities are:
· Planning cleaning schedules and tasks in different parts of the property
· Carrying out periodical deep cleans, as well as daily cleaning, of the property
· Hoovering, sweeping, mopping and washing of floorboards, carpets and rugs
· Dusting and polishing
· Laundry and ironing
· Regular cleaning and changing of bed linen
· Writing up regular cleaning reports
· Ensuring upkeep of porcelain, crystal, gold and silverware (particularly in the absence of a butler)
· Maintaining an inventory of cleaning products and materials
· Flower arranging
· Overseeing stock and supply operations in regards to cleaning products and supplies
· Potential dinner service duties during big events

- Hold clean criminal records in both their country of employment and country of origin
- Present all certificates and qualifications from training centres and/or schools they attended
- Successfully pass two interview stages
- Provide at least three positive references from previous employers
- Complete professional dossiers containing: CV, cover letter, proof of identity (photocopy or scan), proof of address, proof of the right to work in the country of employment (if applicable), driving license and pay slips from previous professional placements. Candidates should be aware that other documentation may also be required.
